We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

Even after latest Apple and Fitbit update still no vibrating with text messages.  Tried everything on thread, hope they fix it soon.  I need this feature.  Didn’t want to invest in an Apple Watch but will have to if not resolved.

I just updated to iOS 13 yesterday and stopped getting the text notifications... notifications for everything else works of course. I was hoping this was going to be fixed quickly but I see that is definitely not the case since its been ongoing. Tried all the troubleshooting to no avail.

Same for me and it's been since the iOS update.  They say to turn on all previews but I do not want everyone everywhere reading my text messages if my phone is out.  Ironically, I get a notification when a call starts as if I'm not the one who just called that person.  So I have features I don't want and not the one feature I had that I wanted.  ha!

Yes, I’ve tried all the ideas posted to fix this mess. Most I’ve tried repeatedly. I’m thinking it’s time to count my losses and move on to an Apple Watch

The only downfall I can see is it has to be charged nightly.  😕  I'd really like to stay w/ Fitbit, I just see far less value w/o the texting capabilities and it's a giant watch to lug around for just tracking steps.  (I use the Nike Training Club app for free guided workouts not Fitbit for a fee)

I, too, am beyond frustrated with this. I’ve tried EVERYTHING, to no avail. The number of people still experiencing these issues and still no communication from Fitbit is very disappointing. I don’t have much hope for a speedy fix.

I too was not receiving text notifications on my Fitbit versa lite. I changed the setting on my iPhone notifications messages to show previews “always” and now I’m getting notifications on my Fitbit. It is not my preference for my messages to be seen but for now I’m getting notifications.

Update: I’m a **ahem**. Lol If you use the “when unlocked” feature, it will give you a preview on the watch but not your locked phone. You’ll just see the contact name and text message or iMessage underneath. I still don’t know how to stop being alerted that I’m on calls I know I’m on but that’s less concerning. Ha! Also, I have a bug where all my notifications come through again each time I turn my phone on/off. Some are days old.

I totally agree. If I could wear a Apple Watch at work I would. I wish it would have never updated

has anyone gotten the issue of the ios13 update and no text notifications on the Fitbit? I have tried every day all of the steps Fitbit listed. It never works.

Basically. And when you speak with Fitbit directly, they’ll just keep repeating that they’re aware of the issue.

If my Versa would just tell the actual time, I’d be fine with waiting for bug fixes with notifications.

Just one wee thought. When I have problems with my ionic and my iPhone not finding each other on Bluetooth it can be because there’s another Bluetooth device ( in my case iPad) nearby. Try turning off any other Bluetooth devices and see if that helps?
