We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:
1. GET UP-TO-DATE
- Update the Fitbit app.
- Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.
2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS
- Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
- Tap the information icon
- Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
- Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
- Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
- Tap the information icon
- Turn on Share System Notifications.
3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS
- Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
- Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
- Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App | Settings |
---|---|
Calendar |
|
Messages |
|
Phone |
|
All other apps |
|
4. RESTART YOUR PHONE
For instructions, see the Apple help article.
If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

Has anyone else checked the ‘Notifications / messages’ page within the app?, (open envelope, top right in the ‘Today’ page of the latest version), the last date logged on mine is the 10th June, 2019, kinda proves that the bug was introduced on the next app update after that and before iOS13.
Fyi, there was a Fitbit ad on Facebook, we made a comment as to the situation and received a reply asking for further details, the response wasn’t up to much.

I am on Android too and have had issues with getting vibrations for notifications since fitbit updated the Versa software. Seems i have bought a product that does not deliver that was promised - if not resolved soon may seek refund on 'false advertising' basis!

Same. I don’t want text previews on my phone, but do want them on my Fitbit. This worked with previous iOS.

Any new updates I’ve tried everything and my versa still does not receive text notifications. My iPhone and Versa are both updated.

That worked for me to get the messages to come through, but I don’t actually want Message previews showing on my iPhone.

Have you checked the notifications feature in your IPhone. It’ll give you a listing of all your apps and how you can manage the notifications for these including FItbit.
