We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

Maybe Apple is releasing different versions at different times? I have heard there are multiple issues with this update.
Maybe Fitbit is waiting for all of the bugs to be worked out? If so, they need to tell those of us who are super frustrated.

I have done everything and still not getting any message notifications. It’s so frustrating. Is there anything else that can be done to fix this problem? I have an iPhone 7 and a Fitbit versa

I’ve tried all the steps in the pinned thread and still no notifications...Ugh!  The only reason I upgraded to an Inspire HR was to be able to get my text notifications and not need to have my phone always by my side.
Please fix!!!!

MegaBite, is the only thing I can hear from you guys. "We are working to resolve the issue" but sees that is not true. I love my Blaze, but now is not good help, specially, because I have to put on silence my iPhone and I need to check if my daughters send me a message, before just I saw my blaze and done.

I did all that and my Blaze still not working. Now Apple pushed out another update IOS 13.1.3. Fitbit never take this long and my device is useless if I do not get my text notification. I am not allow to have my phone on me at work.

I have done all the trouble shooting steps. When I did that I could now get phone calls but not text messages. Wasn’t sure if I needed to do something else

Finally got texts to come through on Fitbit Charge 2 but had to change my message setting on phone to show previews.  It wasn't like that before.  Will this be something you are going to look at updating?  Thank you!

I also tried everything they said to do in this thread. Is this Fitbit's way of telling us that we should just buy an Apple Watch so it will actually work and be worth the money we spent? I have a Versa, and if Fitbit can’t get this problem solved soon, I’m definitely boycotting them. Absolutely unacceptable.

Hey I just got mine to work. This what I did. Go to settings and find notifications then scroll down until your find your message app at the bottom it will say options (set show previous ) to always. It should work right after that. I have a versa and like everyone else I have done everything. Hope this helps

Yeah this worked for me as well but I don't really want to have this option on. Don't like my texts being shown on the front screen

Well, Fitbit is no better.  Your option is a mechanical pedometer.
