Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Update 12/13/2019: Please ensure you are on the latest iOS version, currently 13.3. Also check out the updated instructions in our notification help article

This thread is a continuation of our previous discussion on notification issues introduced with iOS 13. If you are experiencing difficulty with your notifications after updating to iOS 13, please carefully follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below.

These steps should resolve the issue when followed correctly. We realize this process can take some time, and encourage you to proceed carefully and deliberately through every step, even if you think you've already done so.

If these steps do not appear to resolve the issue for you, please try them at least once more to be certain, then respond in this thread with specific details about where you were unable to proceed, or what unexpected behavior you are still experiencing.

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

5. DOUBLE-CHECK

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and double-check the following:

  • DO NOT DISTURB

This feature prevents your phone from sending notifications. Verify that Do Not Disturb is off:

  1. On your phone, tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
  2. Make sure Do Not Disturb is turned off.
  • SET UP NOTIFICATIONS IN THE FITBIT APP
  1. With your Fitbit device nearby, tap the Today tab

     > your profile picture.
  2. Tap your device image > Notifications. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your Fitbit device to your phone.
  3. Choose the types of notifications you want to receive. Tap App Notifications and choose the apps you want notifications from.
  4. Sync your device.

Again, if these steps do not work for you, please try them more than once and then let us know specific details about your experience so that we can assist further. Please keep your app up to data and watch this thread for new information.

I have tried the steps three times as well. I also disconnected my charge 3 from my Bluetooth and the Fitbit app then restart my phone and reconnected it all. Still nothing.

I’ve done all of these steps and then some. I try every day to fix. Restarting my Fitbit did nothing, I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, nothing. My Fitbit has stopped vibrating when touching the little button on the side.

It’s been a few months now since the IOS13 updates and I haven’t had notifications since. Super frustrating, that’s one of the major reasons I chose the Charge 3.
Fitbit, please fix this issue!

If not, I’ll be forced to stop buying your products and I’ll switch to Apple Watch!

I’ve done all the steps numerous times and still not getting text notifications. Everything is up to date. I get call notifications but not texts. I am beyond frustrated with this.

I tried the steps a handful of times, still not working for me.

Just followed the instructions three times and still not working. Everything is as it should be - just doesn’t work.
I get notifications but it will not vibrate - and that’s what I need when my phone is not in sight or on vibrate.

Im not happy that my fit bit no longer works as advertised - I would not have bought it if I these functions were not available.
I think partial/full refunds or replacements should be provided.

None of this stuff in the article worked. For me, after updating to iOS 13.3...I had to remove the Charge 3 from the app on the phone, then re-add it. Worked fine after that...

In doing testing, I realized i did start receiving the notifications, however my device was not vibrating to alert me. I received the versa 2 for Christmas and everything works just fine, including messenger notifications, so far.

I have tried these steps as well and still no notifications at all, please help.

These troubleshooting tips are not working for me either. I just had my Charge 3 replaced because of a faulty screen. I was hoping that the new device would work, but sadly it is not. I get calendar alerts, and it syncs just fine with my app, but for whatever reason texts and calls still do not come through. I have the iPhone 8 plus with the latest version of iOS, 13.3. I am heart broken that FitBit has yet to figure out how to fix this on-going issue. I chose to stick with FitBit because of the community, but now I am regretting my decision and think its about time I go with the Apple Watch.

Tried multiple times and I am still not receiving messages however I receive my calendar notifications, unfortunately it sends those notifications multiple times which is very frustrating. When will this be fixed as all my notifications worked perfectly before?!?

I have gone through the instructions in detail twice.  My Fitbit Blaze is still vibrating well after receiving a call, even after I have hung up.   Please advise.  This has been going on for months and I am ready to switch to another brand instead of the Versa 2 which I had been considering prior to these IOS update issues.

I have followed all the steps to get versa lite to work with iPhone, several times nothing is working, can't even swipe on watch. Need answers

Any updates on when this will be working?

Agreed

My iPhone Fitbit screen has Manage Activity Items then shows Calories Burned.

My husband (same iPhone and Fitbit Charge 2 models) Fitbit screen has his picture, Today with a big circle with steps, below that smaller circles with Miles, Calories Burned, Miles Walked, and Floors.

He had no problems updating to 13, but I did.

Still reading all notes posted, but would appreciate whatever else you can offer.  Thanks!
