Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Update 12/13/2019: Please ensure you are on the latest iOS version, currently 13.3. Also check out the updated instructions in our notification help article

This thread is a continuation of our previous discussion on notification issues introduced with iOS 13. If you are experiencing difficulty with your notifications after updating to iOS 13, please carefully follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below.

These steps should resolve the issue when followed correctly. We realize this process can take some time, and encourage you to proceed carefully and deliberately through every step, even if you think you've already done so.

If these steps do not appear to resolve the issue for you, please try them at least once more to be certain, then respond in this thread with specific details about where you were unable to proceed, or what unexpected behavior you are still experiencing.

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

5. DOUBLE-CHECK

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and double-check the following:

  • DO NOT DISTURB

This feature prevents your phone from sending notifications. Verify that Do Not Disturb is off:

  1. On your phone, tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
  2. Make sure Do Not Disturb is turned off.
  • SET UP NOTIFICATIONS IN THE FITBIT APP
  1. With your Fitbit device nearby, tap the Today tab

     > your profile picture.
  2. Tap your device image > Notifications. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair your Fitbit device to your phone.
  3. Choose the types of notifications you want to receive. Tap App Notifications and choose the apps you want notifications from.
  4. Sync your device.

Again, if these steps do not work for you, please try them more than once and then let us know specific details about your experience so that we can assist further. Please keep your app up to data and watch this thread for new information.

I just bought my new Versa Lite and this is not working for me. I have completed all of these steps 3 times now and I still get no TEXT notifications on my iOS13. I did get a calendar notification, which is great but I am mostly looking for the text ones. Is there a timeline as to when this will be fixed?

I just purchased a versa 2 today.  I cannot get notifications.  I need to know if I should just return to Best Buy.  One of the reasons for purchase was for the notification options and it's not working brand new with my Iphone for notifications.  Very disappointing.  Please advise.

I have repeated the troubleshooting steps multiple times. I am able to receive all notifications except for texts. When will there be a bug fix?

I have found a temporary fix. I'm not sure if this will work for iPhones. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and the Versa 2 this is what I did.

1. Download Messages by Google

2. Set Messages as my default message app on my phone and allowed notifications.

3. Shut down my Versa by going to settings on the Versa, scrolled down to About, selected Shut Down

4. Turned off my bluetooth

5. Went to my Fitbit app and deleted the Versa

6. Restart my phone

7. Went to the Fitbit app and added my Versa

8. Turned the Versa back on so it would connect.

9. Added Messeges as my default message app in the Fitbit app

You should be good to go.

Please be aware that all of your original messages will start to show on your Fitbit as well as this new app. If you have messages from 2017 these will show as well, they will all come through at the same time.

I hope this helps someone

Was the update supposed to fix the notification issue? I did not have problems on my Charge 2, but am getting no notifications on my Versa2. Disappointing.

Disappointed that my messages still are not working! I treated a factory reset and had problems with that. I called in to get it fixed and apparently that is an issue with the Versa lites. This needs fixed or I want a new watch or my money back.

I set up a Versa 2 last night and still didn't have notifications this morning. Rebooting the phone finally made everything work for me.

I haven't been receiving text notifications nor call notifications on my Inspire hr for weeks.  I've been on Fitbit support chat twice now and nothing they're having me do helps.  I updated my fitbit yesterday and still no notifications.  Very disappointed.  Been a loyal fitbit user since 2013.

I’ve done all these hoops so many times, sometimes phone calls notify me and vibrates again when I answer call and vibrates when I make a phone call. No notifications for texting though. It’s annoying doing all these steps and nothing changes.

I’ve done these steps dozens of times. Randomly it will work and sync for a few hours then kick back out. I’m super frustrated - every time I do it I have to rejig my settings. This is a waste of time !!!!!

This is driving me bonkers! I still can't receive text on my Fitbit. I'm adept at these type of issues and still, nothing.  Running 13.3 on iPhone 8+ using a Charge 2. I've spent way too long trying to resolve this issue. Please tell me someone has a hack by now.
