We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

Did you see the pinned thread at the top of this board?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Nothing has worked for me other than the following:

In notifications you have to go to messages>Options>Show Previews> Select anything except never.

Hello everyone. Let me help you with your notifications.

You start by refreshing the link between your phone and your device by doing the following:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

Take into consideration the instructions in the following link too:

Let me know how it goes.

Updated to IOS 13 last night, and same issue as others.  No TXT or Call msgs on my Phone.  Very frustrating.  I may return my Fitbit as it's been a couple weeks for this issue.

I've ordered the Apple watch too. I've been with fitbit for many years but they don't appear bothered that they are letting customers down or that people value their privacy with notifications. Apart from the Sleep Tracking the V5 Apple watch does everything else and more. It costs more but you pay for quality and something that works all the time.

I was just about to buy the Versa 2. Thank God I didn't. Everyone I know in my profession is switching to Apple in the next few days. 200+ people and a cross the whole heath service everyone is talking about going Apple. We need confidentiality and to have working alerts. They save lives.

I decided to try a factory reset of my device.  Now because it won't even show on my Bluetooth to connect, I have a worthless fitness tracker on my arm.  😡

I just told my husband the same thing!! I rely on this Fitbit to much for this feature to not work correctly.

It still didn't work - I did a factory reset the other day too, it just took forever to even get the Versa connected back to the phone

Mine was fixed.  The initial change they suggested that I did, did not work on its own.  But if you go in and change the notifications in settings, do the same thing on the fitbit, turn it all (phone and fitbit) off and then on again.  Then, if you have a versa, make sure you push the large single button so the notifications pops up and make sure that is also on.  After I did all that, mine worked again and prior to updating to IOS 13, I had no issues.  Truly, if you want something to always work seamlessly with Apple, you have to have an Apple product.  Blaming fitbit for an IOS update..really makes no sense.  When I first wrote, I was just looking to see if I could find solutions.  Which I did.
