I understand that there are much worse things happening in the world than a Fitbit Charge 3 HR that won't synch, but it is so very frustrating. I am currently involved in multiple walking challenges and not having my steps synch correctly is ridiculous! I have tried all of the steps mentioned as well as contacting Fitbit directly.
While I understand that they're working on it, they are losing a lot of customer support - at least from what I've heard.
Hurry up with a fix Fitbit - and if it needs to be on the Apple side of things let us know!
Rant over.....

Fitbit are at fault with this issue. It is affecting all fitbit devices however the fix seems to be taking a long long time. Meanwhile all fitbit fans are inconvenienced. Wonder if the press and media are aware.

So-here’s the fix that worked for me. Uninstall your app, restart your phone, reinstall the app. Worked first time for me. Hope it helps you!

I deleted the Fitbit app by removing it from settings. I went to General, then to iPhone storage, then to the Fitbit app. Deleted it and deleted Fitbit coach, which is separate. Finally went to App Store and reloaded it. Everything uploaded and it is now syncing without trouble with the Bluetooth connection. Thanks for this suggestion!

I am at 13.1.2 on my iPhone X XSMax with a NEW Versa Lite. The Versa lite intermittently syncs with FitBit. I say intermittently because yesterday it did not sync at all. Today it synced 4 times. Most of the time I get Sync Failed. If I look at the bluetooth settings the Versa Lite will appear and go from connected to not connected to connected to not connected. Over and over. What is intriguing to me is the fact that the calorie count from my versa lite is ALWAYS up-to-date. Steps however may take 2 days to sync. What have I done? Removed FitBit app. forgot device (5 times) Shutdown Versa Lite. Factory Reset Versa Lite. turned off Bluetooth, Shutdown the phone. Re-installed FitBit, re-paired the Versa, All to no avail. I even went to Apple to see if my bluetooth was not working properly. It is working fine. I have an Aria 2 Scale that hasn't lost connection through all of this. I have talked to FitBit and I get "be patient."

Hi there, I tried rebooting my iPhone and Fitbit. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app. Nothing worked. What did eventually work was on the Fitbit App “Account” tab, removing the device, in my case Versa, and proceeding to “Remove this Versa”. And then reinstalling the device from scratch, it takes a good hour at least but it worked for me. Good luck!

Glad it worked for you. I have tried all suggestions and also folllowed advice from fitbit and apple to no avail. Seems like Fitbit are in no hurry to fix it.

I replaced my old Flex with an Inspire. The new Inspire connected and synced immediately. I do not understand the problem with the Flex but I am happy to be back online. 6 day’s of steps lost, however.

Everything works for me except my messages cause alerts on my Charge 2. I get phone call notifications and calendar notifications, but no message notifications. I have tried changing my notification settings on my iPhone, but that hasn't helped. I've tried restarting both and that didn't help either.

Try going into settings , notifications then scroll to text messages scroll down to show preview and toggle that setting to green. Mine has been ok since i did that. I dont like the text message showing on screen but hopefully Fitbit will solve the issue.

Thank you! Uninstalling and re-installing the app worked.
