Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

Hi @GabiMurphy - you don't need premium, see what others are unhappy about in the Android and iOS app forums.

I have Premium and its not logging my walking correctly, it only logged it as half the time, very frustrating.

Really not a fan of the new app design. Everything looks the same. The previous more colorful design was much more user friendly and easier to quickly view information.  Also, the battery percentage is an absolute must! As time goes on the battery life changes from lasting 5 days to barely a day and a half. While I’ve accepted that as general wear, since my Versa is probably 4 years old, I like to know how close it is to dying so I can be sure to keep it charged. Who thought removing this was a good idea? Obviously someone who doesn’t actually use their Fitbit device.

I hate the new app!😬

AGREE! I will likely be cancelling the premium version that I was enjoying.  Hurts me to even look at it. It was wonderful before and I told everyone to get Fitbit. Maybe not now. I do not want to have to scroll for days to see things I could readily see before. And where is the readily available graph that went with exercise so you could see peak, cardio and fat burn easily in one place. I do not want to tap, scroll and interpret to see these things. They even changed the terminology used. Ugghhh.....

----

I asked on chat. You can't.

----

YES! 100% everything you just said. AWFUL!

----

No contrast at all. It was a very nice app before. People buy Fitbit for the functions and the app. They do not need to leave a great functional interface.

What did you have to do to cancel your premium? I kept asking on chat how to do that and she kept diverting. I said I would give them to the end of the week but then canceling premium.

--------

2018 for me. Big fan.....of the old interface. Will be canceling premium if nothing changes quickly. Not sure what watch to move to, though. I do not have an apple phone so....

---------

Those are the same things I have been looking for.

Revert the app back to how it was. Whoever did your marketing research should be fired because the new app is not what your customers want. I understand you are not going to make everyone happy, but from what I can tell, the majority of people do not like it. I know how to develop apps and push them out to the stores, so I know that going back to the old one is not that difficult, it's just a matter of Fitbit doing it.

@UptownGuy Yes, it does keep a running log of daily steps. 😊 From the home screen, tap <Steps>,. You will see “Day  Week  Month  Year” across the top of the screen. Tap <Day>. You’ll see small arrows to the left and right of “Today” — tap the left arrow to scroll through previous day step totals.

I have also been having issues with it recognizing my exercise...even walks. I have to use a second running app to get accurate info.

@Steve-53405 Yes, I am in the minority — of people that post at this forum. However, that may not be representative of all Fitbit users, because this is a Help forum targeted specifically to people with questions/complaints. In the at-large community of Fitbit owners, there’s no answer yet.

For those of you who don't like the new app, here is a workaround for Google Play. It worked for me, and I am back to the old app!

Search "How to roll back to an older version of an app on Android". Click on the Android Police article. Follow the steps.

Canceling was easy.  On my Iphone, in settings, and then Subscriptions.  I presume you can also do it on the app, but it may be more problematic.

I presume they eliminated the color to perhaps safe battery life.  Probably the same reason they are hiding sleep and heart rate analysis.

In my opinion Google buys companies and holds them for the cash flow without making an effort to improve the product.  Nest and Fitbit are prime examples.  It appears they simply don't have the talent to improve the product they didn't create.  This was their first attempt at updating Fitbit and it appears from all the comments it was a total flop.

Anyone have a link to reviews in App store?

I really miss the old app. Took me a minute to find how to customize my stats the way I had them before the update instead of all the new preformatted options that don't fit what I am looking for.

I am not oppsed to changes but I will say I really appreciated the bright colors in the app and additional wording/descriptions previously, it was energizing to look at and self explanatory. The muted colors are more sophisticated sure, but I can't say I feel any boost to my mindset looking at them. Maybe give people the option to customize their display for bright/dark or compact/detailed views?

I do not like the new app and I should have been asked before you updated it. The screen is terrible and I qant the old screen back and you can't see everythong you did in the previous version.

It very user friendly and back form you do not allow us to make the choice to update !!!

Hard to begin to describe how much I really don’t like the new look. So unfriendly, bulky, ugly, can’t find anything I want… and on and on. Please change it back and have a re-think. It’s simply awful.

Also day one in the new app is didn’t record any steps. Genius. 🤦🏻‍:female_sign:

You might want to rein in your excitement. It is not an improvement. It isn’t even an equal option.

Please bring back the older dashboard.   I cannot see my fitbit battery level in the app any longer.  Sleep data is not as detailed in this current dashboard.   I would like to see the time spent in each level of sleep and the time awake.   I am not happy with this new dashboard.   Also I an no longer able to access the community on the app
