My son has had two friend requests from nude women. He is 8. Luckily he has no device and it comes straight to me. Why is it IV never had these requests? It's like they are purposely targeting children's accounts. I have blocked both. Please advise on why this is happening?

Fortunately the store I bought it from will refund me the money. There is no way I'm going to risk my child seeing images like that at such a young age. I'm 44 and have never received a such a graphic friend request. It's extremely disappointing that such a popular brand can allow for such major errors to occur like this, especially to children!! My daughter has begged for a fitbit for 4 years and within 3 days, her first friend requests are from 2 porn actresses. Do something about this now

I just received a SPAM email FRIEND REQUEST of a naked girl sitting in a bathtub that wants to connect and get fit together. "JOIN ME ON FITBIT SO WE CAN TRACK EACH OTHERS PROGRESS AND SEND EACH OTHER ENCOURAGEMENT......." The name is JACQUELYN P. and the display email is MESSAGES-NOREPLY@FITBIT.COM
Has your contact list been HACKED?

Please explain to me why Fitbit doesn’t screen profile pictures for nudity? I understand having to report the occasional friend request due to not knowing the person and whatnot but I also have had to block and report two different requests with nudity in the profile pictures sent to both of my young children(both requests sent within an hour of each other). Fitbit needs to take this situation more seriously.

I’ve gotten the same. Are they posting just links?

Reporting it to FitBit does not seem to help. Get requests with naked profile pictures and a link to probably an adult site. Maybe send it to an investigative reporter in the media?

My child has received 6 friend requests on her child account within the last 24 hours...all naked profile photos. Absolutely disturbing.
When did this turn into a pedophile friendly app?

Don't care about the "Sorry". It's Fitbit's business - or Google's. If they can't stop them then they should disable the functionality they created that is allowing it - or gov't regulators need to act. Goodbye Fitbit.

Have you blocked the user and reported the private message as spam.
This is a community of Fitbit users an some users simply join to plant spam.
You would not believe what posts the spam blockers stop everyday.

My 7 year old received a similar request. I didn't know that my child could receive friend requests! I appreciate that the message went to me first but the fact that anyone was able to see my child's account is entirely inappropriate and I do not want her account to be accessible to anyone beyond myself (nor do I want to see these messages either!). The default setting for any child and if parents want to increase their accessibility, they can make the choice to do so. If parents start to hear that their children can get friend requests with nude pictures, it will severely damage your ability to attract clients. You have left yourselves open to a severe security violation and you need to fix it now.

@SunriseRun462 @JPHAmoss and @LaurB20 your posts were merged into this one where others had the same problem with these unwanted naked friend requests. A Moderator has already replied to this thread and is aware of the situation.
Google doesn't own Fitbit, but has tendered an offer, which hasn't been finalized due to legalities.

We shouldn't have to download the app on our usual email pc just to get to a 'block' or 'report' or 'reject' button. The pornographic emails Fitbit is sending should have buttons on it for these.

When it comes to blocking a user, this may be done through the same web browser you are using to read this thread.
Friend requests will not include anything more than a message saying that "insert Name" wants to become friends.
What you are describing is a private message. Since your child doesn't have a registered email, the PM will be forwarded to you.
My understanding is that only approved friends should be able to PM a minor, so clearly something is broken.
But I'm all cases the PM should be reported. And blocked.

In fact, it came to my email account which I had to use to register my recently purchased FITBIT. So somehow they have gotten ahold of the email accounts. I have not seen anything reported yet, about a security breach, but based on so many people getting SPAM emails and messages in the past few days, I would suspect that FITBIT has be compromised or breached.

Nope - these 'Friend requests' include the pornographic profile picture of the sender.
And the email does not have anything in it that allows blocking straight from the web browser.
In fact just to try to get to a 'blocking' or 'reporting' point, the only action possible from the porn email was to click on 'review request' - which only took me to facility to download Fitbit's app since it's not on this pc. I'm not going to download Fitbit app onto another pc just so i can spend more time rejecting their porn.
No b/c there was no simple way to do it - it only took me to the app download store. If Fitbit can't stop the porn they are facilitating then there should at least be a 'reject, block, or report' button on the 'Friend request' email.
Friend requests include more than just 'insert name' - it includes senders porn profile pic.
Google's buy out of Fitbit is more than just an "offer" - it's an agreed to buy out of Fitbit. Yes it hasn't fully closed yet but it's misleading to say it's just an "offer".
Too much time spent on this already.

I had the very same problem happen today. Fitbit said they are working on it.....they told me the only way to block this person is to open their friend request on my email. I said no because I don't want to engage, they said it's the only way. After much arguing I opened it and I never got an option to block. The immediate options was "Main guardian approval, thank you". Fitbit support couldn't resolve the situation, nor answer why it was taking way too long to load the new friend in my childs "friend list" and I asked to delete my account all together. They agreed this is the best solution, but I can't open a new account with my email for 7 days.....seriously, fitbit can't find a better solution for the family app?

Completely agree, have received 11 nude requests for my 2 children since yesterday and there’s seems to be no way to stop them and not much Fitbit ‘can’ do.

@SunsetRunner Google does NOT own Fitbit. It did tender an offer to purchase it, but it is still stuck in the necessities that the legal world requires. Before you begin a campaign, be sure of your facts. Porn isn't being directed at user's children - it's being sent to many adults, too. Unfortunately, this is part of the problem of the internet life.

I received 4 "requests" on 3 different kids accounts last night. I went on to each of their accounts and set all of their personal information to private, and I also did the same on mine and my husband's account. After doing that I have not received any new requests.

Out of 5 accounts/profiles ONLY my 3 kids accounts have received the pornagraphic profile picture 'requests'.
