My son has had two friend requests from nude women. He is 8. Luckily he has no device and it comes straight to me. Why is it IV never had these requests? It's like they are purposely targeting children's accounts. I have blocked both. Please advise on why this is happening?

Totally disgusting that Fitbit allow this, I’m moving away from them because of this ridiculous functionality.

Definitely agree, I had one from Tammy G who was wearing a skimpy bikini and brazenly showing off most of her breasts.
it’s just ridiculous, I thought this a fitness app.

We received the same friend request and of course I blocked the pervert, however, it does not show up as blocked. It was an image that I was shocked that was allowed and sent on Fitbit especially for young children to see. I thank God that she did not see that “friend request”. We have to protect our children especially when we do the right thing and set up the kid/parent account and this still happens. I was thankful that we set it up correctly. Good luck!

Why is it you have to accept a friend request before you can find out about them? I would like to know how they know me or whether they are genuine or not before hand.

I don't accept, in the email, I click on there name or photo to view their profile.
It probably is obvious that that saw a post or two of yours.

Thank you.
There is however no photo and it says I have to accept friend request to view their profiles.. I have clicked on to look at info but as above. I will just ignore this request. 😃

I thought such things (inappropriate friend request will reduce after Google acquisition) but infortunatrly it has increased. It looks like someone else who can code better than fitbit and Google has control on their apps.

The problem is that their will always be users with wrong intentions. These users need to be reported.
Is it still true that friendship requests for family members go first to the parent?

Hello, I have another problem. I’m not too sure where to post this, I’m an adult from Australia. And I keep getting friends requests without steps. I look in their profile stuff. They have a lot of friends, so I add them….but after awhile I see a new thing in their profile, seems fishy to me. This is what I see and still no active steps but I see ‘ See My new sports blog in this link ‘
I refused to click it and then I unfriend them.
Has anyone else had this??? Thanks 🙂
my profile picture is a self emoji in my Fitbit so maybe they think I’m a kid?? 🤔
No one can’t answer this?

What is your question @SunsetRunner you simply asked if anyone else in Australia is experiencing what you are experiencing.
What you can do is follow the steps presented in the Best Answer and report the user accounts.
I have my unicycle to help combat such requests. Does this work, not always, but I find the decline and block very helpful.

A year later...and this is STILL a problem.
So...what fix has fitbit tried to implement? Or are you trying at all?
I am about ready to ditch fitbit because theae spam requests are getting annoying

As companies add steps to stop these requests. They find new ways to get around the protection.
It is simply a game of cat and mouse.

I get this too. Sad thing is I discover the blogging thing after they have been accepted. I'm yet to figure out what they are trying to do, but fitbit needs to allow us access to profiles before, and not after accepting the request...

Hello @KDLFORINSTANCE permission access to the users profile is set by the user.

Yes it is, but Fitbit you have it where once you are requesting for friendship, it's disabled and the person can check out your profile, I think this only makes sense...

You only get the ability as a friend, to see their profile, if the person has granted this permission. Fitbit doesn't switch this, unless the user gives permission.
Unless I know of the person making the request. I remove the request. Sometimes simply because they already have 400-500 friends.
So unless you are a friend in real life, or have enough posts on the community, your not going to become a friend of mine.
Of course I let you send PM's
