My Alta will not fully charge. When I plug it into the charger no lights/symbols appear. When I take it off (over night charge) a battery symbol with moving diagonal lines remains and battery doesn’t fully charge. I can tap battery icon away but it always comes back. Help please!!

Same problem. Nothing helps.i don’t have a restart button on my cord. I have the Alta version 21.40.2. It seems to be counting steps, but battery dies real quick.

I had trouble finding the reset button. It’s on the usb end, not very visible.

Having the same issue with my Alta! 😣 I have had mine for around three years now so there will likely not be any warranty coverage offered for me. Very disappointed! I have loved my Fitbit device up until this point. If this is how long the life of their products are going to be, I would no longer consider them to be a good investment for the price. Might be time to move on to another company’s product instead. Sorry Fitbit, you are about to lose a loyal customer. 😔

Awesome! Thank you for that extra info. I am considering an Apple Watch now
as well. My Apple products have never failed me. 😊👍🏻

I am experiencing the same issues, Fitbit Alta worked fine, charged it and when I took it off charge after many hours the image has lines through it and is now the first image when I tap the screen. I have followed the reset instructions and read the troubleshooting options - no luck. Any suggestions?

Honestly, throw it in the garbage and buy a newer model. Sadly, I was told
by Fitbit that there was nothing more they could do to help me with my Alta
once it started doing that and resetting wasn’t alleviating the issue.
Sorry to give you the bad news.

Hello! I am having the same issue as everyone else, restarted, tried different usb ports/points but no luck, do you have any more advice? After an overnight charge, the battery lasts about 20 minutes, less if I'm doing a lot of steps!

Yes, throw it out, and buy an updated one. See my previous reply to someone else’s comment. Sorry! 😐

Did you find a resolution to this issue ? I am facing the same issue. On top of that , I am not able to restart my fitbit as well ( 3 times pressing the button on the charger in 8 seconds)

Same thing happening to my Alta. There are even videos on YouTube showing how to change battery which is not an easy job so appears these were designed as a throw away item.
