Alta HR not working / display won't turn on

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Last night my fitbit alta HR just died. I had it fully charged up , I went to look at the steps and it was just completely dead. I tried plugging it into the charger and it didn't vibrate like it usually does. I left it there for a while and nothing happened. I tried restarting it by hitting the reset button 3 times within 8 seconds, multiple times, and I don't even get a vibration. I tried hooking it up to my computer directly and nothing happened. Tried resetting it again. Nothing. Still nothing. I've had this Fitbit for about a year and I'm very disappointed that it's no longer working. I don't know what else to do! Please help!

Again, you have a faulty product. They should recharge, even it they go completely dead. It was working fine before that. Take this information and help your future customers.

Hi. Same thing just happened to me. It was working all day. I even hit my 10,000 steps. It was fully charged yesterday, now NOTHING. Won’t charge and won’t display or connect to phone.

Hi @NYtoPA, it's nice to see you again in our Community Forums!

Congratulations on 10,000 steps! I am sorry to hear your tracker has stopped working and won't charge. I recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps in order to resolve the issue: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device?

If you're able to charge your device, but it is not syncing, please try these steps.

Let me know how it goes!

I have just encountered a similar issue. My fitbit is fully charged however it keeps dying. I have reset it several times every once the display will become visible after a restart however it will not detect heart rate and will die again after a minute or so.

According to other’s comments this is a frequent problem. They should last longer.

I totally agree. If you look at Apple products, they last forever. I think this is a major problem that Fitbit should address. So far I am in a spiral on the responses, and the only option is to buy another one at a 25% discount. Don’t think so!

I am also having the same issue.

My Fitbit no longer wants to open.

I did make sure all is clean and tested other outlets. I tried the reset button on the wire also. Nothing is working.

This happened a few days ago.

This just happened to me today. I read and performed all of the troubleshooting suggestions it responds for a minute and then nothing. I have to see if this thing is still under warranty. I’m not buying another one. This is my 3td one and lasted the least amount of time/

I did a restart by pushing the button on the charging cable. It worked. I hope it doesn’t only work for a short time like many people are saying

Now today the HR is "working" however its extreamly high as in its 140 bpm while im sitting down in a chair. I borrowed some one elses fitbit to compare the HR's and it was 70 on theirs so clearly there is an issue with my fitbit.

I’ve had the same problem, only had my fitbit a year, keeps turning off when fully charged.

But after reading the forums and hearing over and over again that people aren’t getting anything helpful assistance.

1- highly unlikely that I’ll waste my time in phone calls and conversations with team members.

2- definitely never ever purchase from Fitbit again.

3- it’s super likely that I’m going to warn friends off if Fitbit as well.

If large numbers of people are having the same exact problem it’s a manufacturing defect, and therefore should be recalled. This is a poor way to do business. Good luck in the future.

I agree, I looked to see when I activated mine - April last year 2018.
I refuse to buy another one. I had the One before this and rarely had an issue. The band kept coming apart on me the Alta HR so I bought a new one now this sucker won’t even stay on to use the new band.
What a waste...

God's blessings from me to you

I have the same thing! I've tried everything, even trying to get support  or  ANY help and I keep getting thrown back to the start. Been at this 45 minutes now. I've loved my fitbit up to now but throwing it out the window is a possibility today.
