Alta comes with the ability to set up and receive call, text, and calendar notifications on iOS and Android.
This post will provide instructions on how to setup your alerts so that you can see who's texting you, the content of the messages, who's calling, and what your calendar has on deck for you. For a detailed overview of alerts for Alta, please see this help page.
- How do I set up call/text/calendar notifications on Alta?
- Make sure that your mobile device is compatible with our notifications feature by visiting http://www.fitbit.com/devices.
- On your mobile device, make sure Bluetooth is enabled, and make sure your device is nearby!
- Open the Fitbit app on your mobile device and tap your tracker tile at the top of your mobile Dashboard.
- Tap your tracker tile a second time, tap "Notifications" (iOS) or "Call and Text Notifications (Android) and then turn on call/text/calendar notifications.
- To verify that set up was successful, check out the list of Bluetooth connected devices on your mobile device. Your Alta should appear.
- How do I view call/text/calendar notifications on Alta?
You can view your notifications when they come in by using Quick View or by double-tapping the Alta where the band and tracker meet.
Notes:
- For Android users, please ensure that you've turned notification access on in your settings and enabled each notification in the Fitbit App.
- Calendar notifications use the native calendar app in iOS, and the native or selected 3rd party app on Android.
- Windows Phones do not support alerts at this time.

@Bahamamama2007 @teerizvi I recommend turning OFF the notifications and setting them up again using the instructions here. Let me know if that helps.
@alancoman If you'd like for the Alta to light up on its own when receiving notifications like the Charge HR did, I suggest voting for this existing idea in our Feature Suggestions board. The more votes the idea receives, the more likely it is to be considered for implementation in the future.
@Grandma78 To clarify, the Huawei Ascend P8 is listed as a mobile compatible device here. If the lite is a different model device, our Android team is always working to test and add more supported devices. I don't have a timeline to share at this time as to when I expect the device to be added as supported but will keep you in the know if I find out any further details.
In the meantime, I recommend using an alternative mobile supported device or using a computer to sync.
@Ebbie56 I recommend deleting the Alta from your account and then setting it up again with these instructions. Keep me updated and let me know if that helps.
@Vortega817 If you're still experiencing issues with setting up your notifications, I suggest checking out the troubleshooting tips shared here.

My alta used to provide the notifications for calls and texts on my iPhone. It is no longer working and I can't figure it out. The blue tooth connection with iPhone is there, and it syncs ok. but when I try to get into notifications, the wheel begins churning along with the all-day sync wheel. I eventually get a bluetooth pairing failed message. If I select Try Again, same result. Please help.

@CindyLouWho22 Thanks for taking the time to share how you got to the setting to resolve the issue you experienced.
@terryfn First off, thank you for putting in the effort to troubleshoot the issue. I recommend checking out this step-by-step guide for troubleshooting notifications issues on iOS.

I am still not receiving notifications on my Huawei P8 lite. Nobody seems to read and take in what is said about a problem! Is something being done to help me resolve this problem? I live in hope!

@Grandma78 I don't see the Huawei P8 Lite listed as a supported device on this list. Our team is always working to test and add more devices to the list, so I recommend checking it periodically for updates.
In the meantime, I suggest using an alternative supported mobile device listed here or using a different device such as a computer in order to sync.

This is controlled by notification settings on your phone. My phone has a Do Not Disturb setting where you can set the times you do not want notifications.

I did the same thing. My Alta sent text, call, and iMessage notifications when I had the iPhone 6, but when I went to the iPhone 7, I only get text, calls, and not iMessage. This is frustrating because I'm used to getting them. I hope the updates or compatibility is resolved soon.

@RNSARA517 As @CindyLouWho22 mentioned above, the Alta will respect your phone's "Do Not Disturb" settings so I suggest putting it in that mode during sleep so it doesn't notify you while you're sleeping.
@beck47 I recommend following the troubleshooting instructions outlined in this help article regarding issues with receiving notifications on iOS. Let me know if that helps get your iMessage back in business.

I purchased my fitbit last year. It worked great until a couple weeks ago. I had to go to a 2 day tax school for work. To preserve the battery on my phone, I shut my bluetooth off and left my fitbit in my motel room. Ever since then, I cannot get it to vibrate for texts. I've tried turning the bluetooth off and back on, I've reset my iphone 6, I've reset my tracker. I cannot get it to work! Please help!

Fitbit replaced my Alta with a brand new one and I recently did the update - it brought back notifications for Call and Calendar Reminders, but Text Notifications STILL do not work. And I've done all the "suggested solutions" - none of them work.

I have a Sony Xperia z5 and a Alta. Everything syncs OK, and when i try the test notification on the app this comes through to my tracker. However i have set up notifications and still nothing coming thorough. I assume my device is compatible as the test notification works.
