One of the trickiest parts of getting started with a brand-new wristband tracker is simply learning how to get it clasped properly. The following post can help you with that!
How do I clasp my Alta wristband more easily?
We're confident that you'll be able to get your alta clasped with just a little practice. Don't be discouraged if it's difficult at first - it definitely gets easier over time!
How do I change my Alta wristband?
Fitbit Alta's wristband is detachable from the top and bottom of the tracker, so that you can replace it with accessory bands of different color or material. For help with detaching your Alta's wristband, check the steps in this help article, or watch the video below.

I found an easy solution. Just give the prongs a good lick, line up the holes and squeeze! Presto!

I got the Alta for Christmas, same issue - I cannot snap it either on my wrist or off my wrist. My husband was able to snap it off my wrist, but I am unable to. I watched the youtube video, but if you cannot snap it - that doesn't help. It really is impossible. I will return it.

I had the same problem for a while. I had just received my Alta so it was new and very hard to get the fasteners through the holes in the band. A couple days after I got it I fell injuring my left arm and wrist (not fractured but very painful nonetheless) which made getting the Alta on next to impossible. It was too painful to push the clasp against my wrist and I had so little function in my left hand that I couldn't put it on my right arm without help! Once I got an arm brace I've figured out how to strap it securely into my brace. Now after several weeks the holes have loosened up so that I can finally close it without a problem. Definitely a design flaw but it will definitely loosen up with use.

I had difficulty sliding the band through with the metal clasp attached. Now I slide it through and as someone else mentioned, pinch it through. I pinch one side close then the other. I have a charge for tennis but love the Alta for general wear because it looks nicer.
