Fitbit Alta suddenly turning off

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Ever since I did the update  I've noticed my Alta all of a sudden shuts off with no warning. Every time the battery is on yellow but not dead. I get nothing on the screen and it stops syncing. I mainly use it for phone or text notifications so not having it working with no warning is a problem. I am able to restart it by plugging it in. But that option is not always available. It never did that before the update. Now I regret doing the update.

Thanks. The problem is not that it won’t charge. It fully charges and is
usable while connected. The problem is that as soon as it is disconnected
from the charging cable it shuts off.

Hello, Contacted Fitbit, they gave me toothpick and dry tissue
troubleshoot to do. Did this and it worked for 24 hours, then down again.
Contacted Fitbit again and they said it still had 79% battery, So they have
sent (on way) a replacement. Thank you all for comments Cheers

You really are SOL if it is out of warranty. I just keep making it publicly known through many social media sites and every time I see an add for their new fitbits. I hope they will fix the problem.

Same problem with mine! I rebooted eith the button on the charger this morning instead of just plugging it in and lasted the day, then poof-not working again. Very frustrated as I am in the work week hustle challenge!

As I can read the date, it's been close to an year and I have got my fitbit recently and have same issue.

Is there a work around for this or this device is best suited to be in the junk?

I regret that I haven't read these threads before going for it. It seems like I have wasted my money.

Its a junk now.

I wish the company would stop making this model, it certainly is losing a
lot of future customers. Or just do a one-time replacement as customer
satisfaction and collect the problem FITBIT to test.

Just saying!!!

Its already discontinued.
Rather if it is less than 1 year old, it will be under warranty.
