I had the same problem, kind of. My alta would vibrate but there was no screen. No matter what I did. I ended up calling and they are sending me a replacement. I did notice that I had to push a little harder to hear a click when it connected to the charger. If your Alta is vibrating but your getting nothing on the screen you probably need to call support or exchange where you purchased.

Hey hey hey @Roec153 welcome to the Forums! Don't worry, that's the way Fitbit Alta was designed. If you are sure the golden contacts from the tracker and charger are aligned and it is still not charging, I recommend checking the recommendations on this thread about "Alta unable to charge".
@Heatheranne79 I'm glad to hear that support took care of your inquiry. Enjoy your new Fitbit Alta and keep the stepping up!
Let me know if you have any other question! See ya!

Same problem as below. My fitbit Alta came with three copper charging dots and the charger has only two, so it will not align. Any suggestions?

I've had that same problem. Except, I got my fitbit a couple weeks a go and then last week it just stopped charging.

It's too bat to hear that your Alta stopped charging @moniquevilla13, a few factors can cause your battery to stop charging:
- Dirty charging contacts— Over time the contacts can accumulate dirt and debris that prevents them from making a good connection to the charger. Use a toothpick or toothbrush to clean the charging contacts; do not scrape them with anything metal because this can damage the plating and result in corrosion.
- Faulty charging sources (USB port or plug)—Try a different USB port or UL-certified wall charger. Do not use a USB hub.
- Tracker isn’t connected to the charger—Try reconnecting your tracker to the charging cable, make sure the charging contacts are clipped into the charging cable.
- Firmware is outdated—Try updating your tracker.
- Tracker is defective—Try restarting it.
If your tracker still won't charge, contact Customer Support.
Last but not least, welcome to the Community!
See you around!

Just bought an alta. It won't charge. I've looked at youtube and read instructions to ensure that I am doing things correctly. I've checked my power source. Nothing wrong my end. Disappointed!

I was having the same issue.
I was able to charge after the first step (cleaning the contacts with a toothpick). However, this is the second time I have had to do that within 30 days.
Is this an engineering issue that is planning to be addressed?
Thanks!

I'm having the same issue. My Alta won't charge. Cleaned everything. Still not charging. What do I do now? I just bought it 2 months ago. I haven't worn it for a month.

I have had the exact same problem. Bought 2 months ago. Used successfully for 6 weeks. Left in drawer for 2 weeks. Now it doesn't charge. Nothing on display, no buzz when attached to charger. Help!
