Fitbit Alta won't stay charged

My Alta fitbit was working just fine and just this past week, it will not hold a charge. 2 times in one day my fitbit totally died. I was able to hold a charge for almost 2 days, and now I can't even make it 4 hours and it's almost dead. Anyone else having this issue?

Try restarting your tracker several times and see if that gets it back to normal. Let us know how you go.

Mine has started to do exactly the same thing this week. It’s gone from only needing topping up every 4 or 5 days to needing completely charging within a matter of hours as it is dying on me on a daily basis

Have tried several times to do a restart but for all my device keeps vibrating every time I press the button. No Fitbit sign is coming up on screen so I’m presuming no restart has happened

I am having a very similar issue. It is losing its charge in one day. It used to hold a charge for days. When I wake up it’s almost dead. I’ve tried the reset multiple times. If they suggest that I’ll be very disappointed. I cleaned the charge spots to see if maybe it needed another cleaning. That didn’t help. I’ve only had mine for a year. Pretty disappointed in the life of these.

Just got my Alta today. Showed firmware update needed, so i did. Felt like it took ages to charge plugged into my computer. After being off the charger just a few hours showing a drain of about an eighth of the battery bar.

What firmware version are you all having this issue on? Wondering if it's that. Mine is 21.21.40.2

Mine is doing something very similar. Had been fine, and started not charging completely (only abt 3/4 or the way) and now dies very quickly. Won’t reset. 😞

I got mine replaced. New one stays charged for over a week as opposed to the couple of hours if that I was getting

Yes, I’m having the same problem, also peak heart rate is going crazy when I am resting. I have tried all the usual recommendations, without any success

I just received my Fitbit Alta yesterday, August 7, 2018 and it will not hold a charge, it is now August 8, 2018 and I am at work and it has completely died.  I think I will return this product, because this is not worth my money if it will not hold a charge for 1 day.

There is definitely something wrong with your device. They hold charge for at least a week.

They replaced mine for me. Not immediately and I had to do a bit of threatening but they did it. Don’t be fobbed off as this shouldn’t be happening

well.. with me was a couple of emails and finally they said that's no any option.. your alta is out of warranty and we can't anything for you.

Well actually they offered me 7 days of Fitbit Coach for free and at this point I will say there is not a good option considering that my alta cant keep the charge more than 20hrs.

Make sure that you tell them that you’re going to publicise the bad customer service as this is happening a lot and just isn’t on

I ended up returning mine to the store and received a full replacement. So far happy with my new one.

@FerdinandFitbit Thank you for your quick response and your attention also.

In my case was only a 3 months of Fitbit coach and at the end was like.. Do I really need a fitbit coach when my fitbit last less than 24hrs of battery? the answer is no,  currently I'm charging everyday the device, is all I can do.

Kind regards

Get in touch with customer service. If your Fitbit is only 3 months old they will replace it if they can’t solve the problem

My fitbit alta is almost 13 months, so I think that their only solution was offered me 3 months of "fitbit coach".

I start to think that this kind of device is disposable.

Thank you guys for your help and attention.

Regards
