Android Fitbit app not tracking food and calories intake

I've had an issue for a few months now where my logged food doesnt accurately show up on the main screen icon, and instead have to open the full food log to view my calories.

Starting yesterday, the food log is not displaying my calories at all after adding them. Hours later, they might show up, along with all my other attempts to log my food. It's been a mess, and I've had to resort to just writing it all down.

Customer Support told me to log out, restart my phone, log back in, and try logging. That didn't work. Then they said to uninstall the app and reinstall the app. That didn't work either. I'm still having this issue today, and it's quite frustrating because it's like the main thing I use this app for.

Is this some bug that just needs addressed in an update? My app is up to date, having an update done two days ago. Anyone else having this issue?

Edit: I would like to add that this only seems to affect the quick calories input. Any specific measured food I add seems to show right up, but since I use quick calories throughout most of the day, I cant accurately track my food anymore.

Calories in were showing as I entered them for the current day, but no calories showed for previous days although the foods were listed. And now today, I have a screen that says "no previous history" and nothing shows up since June 8 Calories counts before that still show up when I select the individual day lists. Strange. I think there were updates to my phone and the fitbit app

reported it June 7 and have to say CS has been horrible.. two CS actually laughed at me on the phone and one today said they know about it and basically deal with it..  asked for timeline for a fix and said they don't know which is totally unacceptable after multiple calls over 11 days and it's fixed when it's fixed..  absolutely beyond annoyed..  coming back to Fitbit after a 2 yr hiatus with another tracker and this sucks..

I did uninstall+ reinstall , and I did soft boot them hard boot of phones and tablet.  everything is still there but days I lost or where the issue first started are not coming back and can get anything on second mobile or tablet.. all gone..  I also did a refresh of the actual inspire2 while on charger and nada.. it's the app and they are clueless

I am using a Samsung S21 FE, and version 3.60. My app was working with the previous version until it updated. The food tile has completely lost my data for the last 1.5 weeks since the update. I am scanning a barcode or typing in my foods because it is needed to show my doctors. I also lost all custom foods added within that time as well.
I did not lose any other data from the last 1.5 weeks, everything else shows (water, sleep, steps etc).

I bought my Charge 5 yesterday and entered breakfast details on the app this morning but it's not showing up on the web dashboard. However the water intake I entered on the App is showing on the web dashboard. How do I get the food to sync?

@GQ78   There is a current issue with food logging.  The web/app sync (or non-sync) is one of the issues and Fitbit is aware.

I log my foods via the Custom Foods category or database and I've been having this same problem since yesterday (when I updated my app) My calorie bar for yesterday doesn't show up in the overview, but I can see that I've logged foods. Today I've been putting in the calories via my browser page, as all calories put in via the app just don't show up on the tile, but that's quite a hassle. I've already tried steps like logging out and in again, restarting my phone etc. Before the update I also had the problem that the macronutrients were way off at times before normalising.

As of this reply, my Android app version is 3.60 (20263717).  I entered food on the app and for the first time in quite a while it automatically synced with the laptop dashboard.  Thank you for addressing this.  I hope other customers have an equally positive result.

UPDATE: The 3.60 (20263717) update on my Android worked for two days. I am back to the original problem.

1. Everything syncs from my phone to the laptop dashboard EXCEPT food.

2. The only way to keep the phone app updated with what I eat is to log food on the laptop dashboard.

I will not be "going premium" when my trial is up. This app has been a hassle from day one. Love my new Fitbit Inspire 2; have given up that it will ever be properly supported by the app. Off to begin logging anew on MyFitnessPal. Done.

My food logs for the last 2-3 weeks weren't logging correctly.  They listed calories in but chart wasn't showing any calories, and it wasn't saying how many calories were left.  That was annoying enough, but now all the data from last 2-3 weeks has gone - no food logged at all.  Very frustrating as there is no way I cab remember it all.  Not at all happy with the app, preferred the garmin app.

I just lost all my logged meals from 6/11 to today 6/18. Just went in to add my dinner and noticed everything from earlier today was missing. When I looked into it further I realized I lost the last week of calorie counting. Really bummed out!

I'm giving up and cancelling my sub to use an alternative service. So close to being a great app.

I am normally not using quick calories, but now was trying it anyhow, since none of the other food logging works anymore...

I am usually logging calories, using the 3 different ways:   recent foods and custom
foods and my personally created items. But no recent or custom food is being saved anymore, so always have to search and  re add them again every time.... Also I can no longer create new items properly there is always an issue with the quantity, volume, it connot be adapted properly, and thus always staring wrong calories.

My Phone is Samsung Galaxy A52s Android 12, and compatibility ok.

It worked just fine (sometimes bit slower), but it worked fine until about a month ago.... (27/4 I think all problems suddenly started)

Hope this info helps, because I would like to get it fixed soon, and I would hate losing all my input (my own created food data, which took already quite some time to build it up step by step)

Please fix this soon ?!

Thanks.

I do not use the Quick Calorie Add function. I generally scan the bar codes of my foods, or I try to find the food in my Recent column. However, the Recent column has not updated in weeks. Phone is compatible. Things are updated. I have changed nothing. Here are the issues I am having:

  • Have not received the Weekly Summary email in weeks.
  • Recent column in Log Food has not updated in weeks.
  • Bar graph does not show the calories that I (attempt to) log
  • Running total of calories does not show up on home page.
  • If you click on Start Logging Your Food, when you look at the running list of days on the Food log page, you can see the total number of calories consumed for each day. BUT if you click on an actual day, the "odometer" graphic will show 0 Cal In, no matter what has actually been logged. The food & calories are saved there, but something just isn't syncing across all screens.

This is getting crazier every day.  Situation keeps changing -- maybe randomly???

For the record, I have  not updated  to the 3.60 version (as of yesterday, GooglePlay still had old version).

For the last three days, I've entered records in the Food log using my (Android) app. I've purposely kept it simple, entering only food items selectable from the menu.  All three day's worth is still there on the Food data entry page, but not reflected to the app's  home page.  Looking  at the dashboard on the Fitbit.com web page, I confirm that none of these entries have propagated to the network -- all three days still showing 0 Calories.  Interestingly,  the "Cal In vs. Out" on  the Dashboard does show the same Cal Out bars as on the app, so some  connection remains between the app and the Dashboard.

I've previously tried the suggested solutions of logging out, and back in, clearing the cache,  uninstalling/reinstalling the app, etc. In some  cases, it actually restored the service, but only for a few hours or maybe a day.  None provided a permanent fix,  and prior entries to the app were lost in the process.

Maybe  this detail will help your  programmers to locate and fix this  problem.

For added fun, I've now also started having issues with exercise. For the last few days my logged exercises have been disappearing. This app is so frustrating.

Using Android app 3.59.1 (20263715) on Pixel 3XL, food entries are not synched with my Fitbit account so app totals are off, recent items not updated, and if I log off the app, they are lost from the phone. I do not use quick calorie function. Started using web version with Chrome on Win 10 and entries were synched back to phone. But web version is not very convenient for logging thru out the day so  loaded Lose it.  Much better food logging interface than fit bit app btw. $20 yearly premium version synchs meal calorie totals back to Fitbit account database. (So doesn't appear to be a server side issue?) And I can still monitor my calorie budget on Fitbit app. So works for me.

Just today, Sleep is not working correctly.  I get the summary data on the dashboard but when I click on it for details -- there are no details.

It seems like this is getting worse and worse.
