Fitbit Update: 7/23
Hello everyone!
We are aware of an issue that is currently preventing our Huawei users to receive notifications on their watches/trackers from their mobile phones, and encountering the error message "Notification service is not running."
We apologize for the inconvenience, and are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. We will update this thread as soon as we have more details on this fix, and appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Any update on this??
I have a versa 3 and a Huawei 20 Pro. I could not get rid of the red error message stating that I need to restart my phone.
I am also not able to turn on audio calls in the Bluetooth settings of Versa controls...
Please help! It becomes very frustrating

If you just got the versa 3, send it back. They aren't fixing this issue, it's been around for a long time and the mods have stopped responding - though they are moderating this topic still.......

I have tried almost everything found from the forum but none of the solutions can fix the problem permanently.
Re login the app and reboot my phone seem to be the easiesttemporary fix in my opinion. I will never consider fitbit agai

It's been almost 2 years and not even a whisper of a fix, so i would say maybe Christmas 2030.

It would be easier (and way more honest) to say that you do not give a ... This problem has not been solved since November 2019??? Seriously?
If you are considering buying a fitbit product- just forget it. You would be better off throwing out your money through the window.

Does this have a fix yet? As I'm having issues with my Huawei p30 pro not receiving notifications with versa 3. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and no joy.

This issue has been around for almost two years without a solution. I suspect there never will be one as Fitbit seems to be ignoring it.
Personally, I am going to destroy my fitbit as it's too late to return it. It'll be the only use/enjoyment out of it since november 2019.

Hi,
I just bought my Fitbit, I have the same issue. I'm using Huawei p30 pro and charge 4.
Other devices like miband and amazfit do not have this issue with my phone, hope Fitbit can solve the notification very soon

Please see my post above, i'd suggest returning the fitbit and buying a better product (better supported one too) or switch phones.
My fitbit is firmly in the bin where it belongs, 2 years it hasn't work, 2 years of no support from this company.
My advise is to get the Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 watch, works so much better, no syncing issues at all.

Update: I can received notification now, but no idea how it work.
After I did all FAQ step and restart phone, it still have the error message. I give up and let it be.
Yesterday when open the app again the error message gone, and the notification work now.

Is there a fix for this yet?
Unboxed my Sense last night. Connected it to my P30 Pro and same issue. Disappointing to have a smart watch that well isn't that smart and only half works.

Such a big turn off... Bought my first Fitbit, a sense watch... Can't fix this bug to get it working correctly with my p30... Thinking of returning it back.
My 25$ drugstore watch was working better, it gives me my notifications

Has this issue been resolved? I got a Fitbit Versa 3 at Christmas. I have a Huawei P20 pro. I cannot get my Fitbit to sync. I've tried all the steps suggested but it works for a day and then stops again. I'm constantly getting a message to say notification service not running.
Any advice please?

I managed to get it working.. it was a power setting on my phone. I had to go into settings > battery > apps and manually manage fitbits power consumption effectively allowing the app to run in the background at all times
