Think it's fixed with this latest update today. I charged my phone to full and 2 hours later its only dropped 2% with everything running. Previous I lost a full charge overnight.

Is there any progress toward a solution to this matter? I had to completely uninstall the Fitbit app from my Samsung S8 and it makes my Versa fairly useless.

That's great if it has been fixed for you. Have you noticed a decrease in data usage as well? However, people should know that the latest version isn't available to all users. It varies based on your device. Do you know what version you installed pf2303? I only have access to version 2.73, which was updated on June 11, 2018.

My issue started about a week ago, Fitbit app started using massive amounts of my battery, even after disabling Always Connected and All Day Sync. Many phone reboots and reinstallations have not fixed it. Currently, Fitbit has used 24% of my battery (of 30%) since this morning. I don't care about Data since I have unlimited, so I don't even know if it is using a bunch more.
EDIT: Went into my Data Usage and saw that Fitbit is using the most of any app this cycle at 2.57GB.

Was mad enough that Fitbit murdered the Pebble (best smart watch ever) do I caved and bought the versa about a month ago. Within the past week the Fitbit app has made my phone unusable. It's used 480MB of data in the last 2 weeks and that is unacceptable. I don't have unlimited data so this watch is going to start costing me money to own. It's also responsible for using 45% of my battery meaning I can barely use my phone before it's dead.

As other's have stated Uninstall and re-installing worked for me.
But why can't Fitbit send a notification to every user who are potentially affected by this issue a push notification or email , to take appropriate action if faced by this issue.
Not everyone knows about this community and
Once again proves it is far from being a user oriented gadget company.

I've unnistalled the app in my phone and the problem was solved for two days. After that, it started draining my battery again. I'll not reinstall it until the problem is solved.

My mobile data limit was exceeded...in 12 hours. This is nuts. What is the fix on this and how do you all propose giving my back my data?

I stumbled on this thread when trying to explain why my battery life has gotten drastically worse. I think what ever the issue is gets worse over time the longer the app is installed. I've seen both battery life and data usage (now that I look back at trend data) getting progressively worse over time.
An email notifying android fitbit users (which they should be able to extract from the system) would be super nice now that it's an acknowledged issue.
