RESOLVED 06/15/18: Not receiving Message+ notifications after update

Fitbit Update 06/15/18: This issue has been resolved with the release of the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.73. If you're still experiencing issues receiving notifications from the Message+ app, I recommend confirming that you're updated to the latest app release and following our notifications troubleshooting tips provided in this help article.

 

I am closing this thread as the issue has been resolved. If you begin to experience this issue again at a later time, please create another post in the Android Community Forum and reference this thread. Thank you for your continued patience as we worked to get this resolved.


Fitbit Update: 6/13/2018

 

New version 2.73 has been fully released to all our Android users and you should be able to update your Fitbit app. We have released a fix for Message+ and Signal App notifications.

Hi, everyone!

 

I noticed many of you reporting that you no longer receive your Message+ notifications to your Versa/Ionic after the Fitbit OS 2.1 update. 

 

We've escalated this issue to our team for investigation. For the meantime, I recommend using the default texting app on your Android device or any other messaging apps. 

 

When I have more information, I'll provide that here. Thank you!

@heatherszj I am not familiar with the Message + you mention (and just realized, I posted in a Message+ thread). 

But yes, I am receiving text notifications og my Ionic, from on an unsupported phone, if doing the workaround I described.

Couldn't receive any msgs and couldn't connect my music on my andriod phone.

shouldn't have to jump through hoops of fire, to get a device you paid $300+ dollars for, they didn't jump through fire to take your money.... as genius as that plan sounds- it only enables corporations to **ahem** on their consumers and not solve the problem at hand

Same here, but the text does appear on the phone for about one second and then disappears.

Thats unbelievable! All the hoops and loops we have to go through to get our wstches to work for a notification. Smh! This is terrible. I refuse to go through all that. Why can't the people behind the Ionic just figure it all out for us.

I am in the same boat as everyone else. I was just getting the notifications yesterday but today Nothing.

Hello. According to what I read. A few days back, this is a fit bit problem which will be fixed with next update. Just waiting and trying to be patient. I hate missing my text notifications.

I also have tried to sync my android phone to my fit bit and it doesn't do that either.

My S8 JUST UPDATED TO ANDROID 8.0 AND NOW MY FITBIT RECEIVES TEXT MESSAGES FROM MESSAGE+!! I'M SO EXCITED!! MAYBE IT'S NOT A FITBIT ISSUE...

For a $300 watch this problem is unacceptable.  At least you can do is notify us of this problem...

I agree. I wish Fitbit would tell us when they will fix this. At least my phone calls are coming in now.            Miss my text messages.

I have a note 8 that has Oreo 8.0 and message plus doesn’t work correctly with message +. Did you get the newer Fitbit update that ends in .20 vs .15 because that seems to work for message plus.

How do we get the .20? I have a note 8 and have the. 15 so mine aren't working.

When did a .20 firmware update come out? The last one from a couple weeks ago that's causing all the problems (.15) was the latest. Maybe Fitbit might post an update and let us know help is on the way...

I am not receiving notifications on the Versa. I have done all the troubleshooting. I have not had my Fitbit for even a month. Very dissatisfied.

I got the software update to Android 8.0 Oreo and now everything works
perfect.
