Just got the S8+ yesterday, but my Blaze no longer receives notifications from my device. I've reset the Blaze, removed it from my account, gone through setup, restarted the phone and Blaze, uninstalled the app, and every other troubleshooting recommendation on the forums. All permissions are granted. No luck. Everything else syncs. Is this just a compatibility issue?

Unfortunately the S8 is not fully supported by fitbit. You may want to follow the following thread which discusses this problem is detail:
https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Samsung-Galaxy-S8-compatibility/td-p/1946855/page/6
I also got a new s8+ and can't make the "run" feature work. I would also like any help.
Best AnswerGot the texts to work but now the music controls don't work. reset a couple times still not working. about to get rid of this thing and get me a samsung gear....
Best AnswerMy galaxy s8 is paired with my Fitbit Blaze, but I cant ready my text messages. its only a green bubble that says Messages. How can I read them???
Best AnswerThere are identical threads for pretty much every new phone, except that in the case of some models it's over a year with no progress despite the reassurances that the engineers are working hard to fix this. Check out this thread too:
This is the response I got from Fitbit - very poor:
Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S8 isn't listed as a supported device for the Fitbit app; this means our engineers have yet to test/verify its compatibility with our app and its many features. As such, we can't guarantee it'll run the app or its features fully and consistently. However, our engineers are continually working to test more mobile devices to ensure they'll support the Fitbit app, so keep checking our list for updates: http://fitbit.com/devices. Let us know if you have further questions!

Yep, you just keep checking the list that never updates.
Best AnswerWell I managed to get it to work after I paired it with my iPod. Idk why exactly, but after turning off bluetooth on my iPod, it automatically synced into my phone and somehow everything is working now. So probably the best solution is to just pair it with something else first I guess. I'm able to get notifications and it is always connected now. Thanks for all the help anyhow.
Mine synced randomly by itself a few days after I made my post. I left it to charge all night and I woke up to my phone asking me if I wanted to use Blaze Bluetooth connection as a trusted device. I looked at my BT connections and it had Blaze and Blaze classic connected. 🤷
