Syncing w/Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

My fitbit app wouldn't work with my new Samsung Galaxy S7 (Marshmellow) due to syncing issues. I just reset my fitbit (plug it into laptop/wall charger and hold button on left side for approx 10seconds until fitbit symbol appears, then unplug it). App worked instantly! 🙂

My
neighbor both him and her have S7's, they opened the app, logged into their
Fitbit acvount.. Now the pressed the plus sign to add a devoce.. Followed
directions and where setup. Then went to the device settings and setup
notifications. They both did it without my help, I didn't even know they
both bought the Blaze.

My feeling is not to treat it as an unsupported phone problem but as a
problem getting it to setup or sync problem, I'm not sure what the problem
is that your experiancing.

Going by your name in assuming that the Blaze is now attached to your
account, what device did you use when setting it up?

The account was originally set up for a Charge which had been stolen and
replaced with the Blaze. I deleted that account and set up the Blaze. It
does not sync. I understood the sync issue is because it is not supported
Would love to make it work. I’ve tried several recommended fixes. Still no
sync. Thanks for your help.

The one thing unnoticed is that you say you deleted your account, this can only be done by support and requires contacting them, you do not have the ability to do thiis your setup to a Fitbit account you won't be able to sync until it is.

I love how there's a few that say 'I don't have issues' or 'my S7 syncs fine'. This issue isn't that it doesn't sync ppl...you don't even know what you have with the Blaze! It's supposed to work like Apple watch!! We should be able to preview texts and incoming phone calls - you can't! That's the issue.

You have to allow fitbit to have access to get the notifications.

But there are many hear and my friends with the S7 can read their texts and see who are calling.
Go to application manager in the phone settings, then Fitbit, permissions, now turn on the sms and contacts.
Some found it easiest to remove the app then reinstall, you will then be asked to give permission for Fitbit, say yes.

I see my phone calls & texts just fine as well as having no problems syncing.

I wish I knew what I was doing wrong.  My Samsung Galazy 7 does not give me text or call notifications.  I've uninstalled and installed everything I can.  Gave the permissions as suggested. Still nothing.  Not a very happy camper!!!!!!!!!!

@MikeM1962 have you checked the phones sound settings. Make sure notifications on lock screen is set to Allowed. Now go into the application notifications and check the notifacation settings of the apps.

Now open notification access and make sure Fitbit has access to read notifacations.

Now go back into the fitbit app, double church the notifacation settings. While your there tap the 3 dots on the top right and send a test

Mysteriously Blaze Classic showed up on my App dashboard as a device to sync
with. My Blaze now works and is syncing fine, giving notifications, and
keeping the right time. I did nothing other than check my app again this
morning and saw the new device then clicked on it rather than the one that
just said Blaze and it worked. Go figure.

Hey everyone -- Correct, the Galaxy S7 or the S7 Edge are not currently listed as supported devices here. If you have one of these devices, I recommend using an alternative supported device or computer. Hope this helps!

When will the S7s be supported? I just bought the charge 2 and S7 not compatible. Seriously?

This thread is over 6 months old. Perhaps we all need to start posting on the wiki page or leaving bad reviews on amazon

Hello, @MarissaMG@Unreal33@Mikael91! Welcome to the Forums! Man Tongue Our team is constantly updating this list, you should try what has worked for others as this doesn't precisely mean that it is not compatible, but it has not been tested, so some features might work just fine. And keep an eye on the list, we do not have an official date but it should be soon.

See you around, and thank you for your patience! Cat Tongue

Hi everyone, just as my friend @SolangeE mentioned before, our team is constantly testing new devices to make sure all the features are properly supported.

So I'm just passing by to announce the Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 were added on our list of compatible devices. So for those who were eager to know when these devices are going to be supported, you can now review all the features available by going to: https://www.fitbit.com/devices

See you around and keep participating in our Community

And??? The site gives zero insights into how to sync my Charges with my
S7 Edge. I feel like someone gave me a commercial instead of giving me a
solution.

I haven't had an issue syncing my galaxy s7 edge to the new fitbit charge 2. The issue I have is not being able to receive text, call or music notifications. I have gone into settings on both my phone and fitbit and allowed all notifications. However, I still don't receive texts. Please help

Ive tried the suggestion to sync the Samsung Galaxy 7 (to plug the fitbit into the computer and hold the side button for 10 seconds etc) twice and it worked for a few hrs and then lost the connection
