I recently had to change out my wifi router. It is the exact same type as my previous router that was connected to the scale but for some reason this scale will not connect to the new router. Oh it was a nightmare connecting the scale to the first wifi as well, but I am over it. !!!!! I have been trying for three days. Shame on you fitbit for putting out such subpar material. some one needs to tell me how to fit this setup or I want my money back. My scale is saying that it has detected the networks but my network does not appear to connect to it. I should have bought a Withings scale. uggh.

Upgraded to google mesh wifi (mixed 802.11 modes) and just managed to reconfigure my Aria scale (which uses 802.11b).
I used only my iPhone 6 and the Safari browser:

The main problem is if someone is using 5g wifi. It isn't up to date with that tech yet. Be sure to use the other wifi option.

This is the worst software/setup I have seen in my PC life. If you want to change your wifi, good luck.
Not asking for password, impossible to go back in the setup, scale not responding, not joining the network, 5g not supported. It is just a piece of ... you know what i mean.
A freaking list with a possibility to input a password by dancing on the scale would probably be easier. I am on the edge to throw the device on a wall.
How is this possible that you have to call support for a basic WIFI connection? never again I'll buy one of their product.

My problem was when it asked if I wanted to connect to Xfinity? I said yes....I had to connect to my HOME Network (named). Also I needed to call comcast to have them make my connection compatible

@taloft THANK YOU for this! I just upgraded to Google Mesh WiFi as well and was experiencing the same difficulty in reconnecting Aria to my new home network. Your cellular data tip was the magic! 👍🏻

This scale is the worst product that I had bought. Can I get a refund?

I just swapped mine out, and I'm having the same **ahem** issue....not recognizing the network, gets through the steps then it says, "oops, something went wrong"

Has anyone gotten a response from Fitbit for this issue?? I recently moved and need to reconnect my Aria, after over an hour of trying via my phone, computer, and their setup software I still get the "wifi err" everyone else get. I remember when I first set it up it was already a nightmare but this is ridiculous!

Easy fix, once you figure it out. You have to use the 2.4 Ghz wifi, not the 5 Ghz.

The Aria uses 2.4GHz only and requires a 802.11b-compatible network connection - most access points these days run in a BGN "compatible" mode which means that the access point will try to switch to the best mode for the connection - but if something else is already using the other modes then you will have problems getting the Aria to connect. It doesn't support the N mode which is the default operating mode for a lot of new Access Points.
I set an access point to BG compatible mode and it solved my connection problems.
