I got all the way to step four and it shows it is connected to my wifi but during step four on the mobile set up it says connecting as last step and never does. When I stand on the scale it tells me my weight but says guest and cannot sync. Help please !

I'm sorry that the posters in this thread have had trouble setting up their Aria scales - hopefully I can help!
Here are our two primary setup resources - be sure to check these out:
That first link will detail two separate setup methods - the first involves the Fitbit downloadable setup software, and should be the easiest way to get setup. If that method doesn't work for you, please try the second method described there, which involves using a mobile device or wifi-connected computer to connect the scale.
Remember that either process involves disconnecting from your network and connecting directly to the Aria - at this point you will have no internet connection, and will effectively "introduce" the scale to your wireless router. Once that process is completed, your scale should be able to sync.
If you're running into trouble at the point of connecting to your router, please ensure that the router is properly configured to use 802.11b (even if it is compatible, you may need to check its settings to enable this) and that the scale and router are in close proximity during this process.
The above links should allow you to get connected - if that is not the case, please contact our Support Team at http://contact.fitbit.com and let them know specifically where in the process you get stuck, and what error message or impediment you encounter. They will be happy to help you get setup!
Hi!
I have a fitbit aria about 2 years.
On last week when I try to re setup my scale, setup not started. i try about 10 times.
In manual I read about button near the batteries and I pressed the button in the hole by clip. After this action Aria have no sign of life.
Please help me to repair my Aria.
Thank you and happy new year!
Best AnswerWhen trying to setup the scale using a Yoga 2 Pro with a very high resolution screen the Windows installed app does not scale properly. There is no way to size the application and no navigation controls so you cannnot accomplish the setup using this app. Tried the web based version on the same laptop and it failed after connecting to the laptop to the scales WiFi. Woud not open the scales served pages. Finally got it to work with my iPhone. The web based app worked as designed on an iPhone 4S. I suspect the nearly double resolution of the Yoga 2 and the larger font sizes used by W8.1 on the Yoga 2 do not scale correctly in the installed app. Easy to fix by just allowing the app to be sized. Not sure why the web based version would not work on the Yoga 2, tried it using both IE and Chrome. Both failed.
I've gone thru the setup 8 or 10 times. No problem getting the router to recognize the Aria scale. I get a checkmark after weighing on the scale, indicating it has synced. However rather than my initials when I weigh, I get "Guest". I've entered my initials in the setup every time. I went on fitbit.com to the Aria device. It shows my initials and the name of the scale "Home".
Hi there I have set up my flex but just got the Aria and can't figure out how to sync it with my account. it keeps tellling me i already have an account. I need to add the Aria with my flex now. Thx for your time in advance.

Best Answereverytime I weight myself i get a set of messages that jump from one to the other "step..." and sens and it keeps looping around without giving me my weight ... My scale has become useless...
It has been months since this has been happening... I want to fix this what do I do . I have tried putting the batteries on ans off. and the same thing keeps happening,,,
I am in the process of setting up an Aria. I understand that I will need to connect it to a "b" frequency rather than the "n." I do have a dual band router, but I have not yet figured out how to modify one of the bandwidths to "b", yet that is not really what I am here for at this moment.
Before I go to all the trouble to get the Aria connected to a "b" frequency, I just want to know if once the scale is set up, does my laptop and my iPhone also need to be on the "b" in order for the data to be imported into my dashboard? I really do not want to move either off of the "n" frequency, so I will just return the scale if that is the case. If anyone out there can let me know, I would be quite grateful.
Best AnswerI am using a Net Gear N600 Router which accepts B,G,N connections. However, after it "Successfully" sets up, I still get ERR after weighing in. The scale will show the Network name if I power down and back up. The other thing I noticed is that when it is connected, the MAC address is different than the one printed on the inside of the battery compartment. Any ideas?
Best AnswerI set up my Aria, and it's all good for me. I sent an invite to my wife. She clicked Accept and created an account. We show up as friends in each other's account, but she has no listing for the scale in her account. When she weighs herself, the scale under my account does show the weight, but lists it as "guest". The drop down list for the user only contains my initials and guest. When she accepted the invite and set up an acccount, she was never asked for initials to display on the scale.
Best AnswerI just picked up the scale yesterday and had no problems getting it set up. Tried to use it this morning and it wouldn't power on. Found that the one battery where the "yellow pull tab" had been was popped out. Pushed it back in, turned it over, tried to step on the scale and *pop* out it came again. After a few attempts I gave up and taped it in. Has anyone else experienced this or should I return it?
Best AnswerI have tried to set up my new Aria scale via my laptop and keep getting the message "oops.....etc.". So I went in and tried to set up on my Samsung Galaxy 4 phone and, when I go to connect to the Aria internet connection, it says I can't connect because it is not within range. OMG! Anybody have any advice?
Best AnswerI've tried the Download method, the web method and the smartphone method and I can't get anything to work. I can get the Setup Active display but the connection keeps failing. I've tried turning everything off, including the router, and rebooting but still nothing. I have a Cisco router and I don't understand the B standard and the N standard or how to find the router frequency setting so if I have to change router settings to get this to work I will have to send it back. Any ideas? Thanks!
