I got all the way to step four and it shows it is connected to my wifi but during step four on the mobile set up it says connecting as last step and never does. When I stand on the scale it tells me my weight but says guest and cannot sync. Help please !

I am having a LOT of trouble setting up my Aria with a Driod. I followed the instructions step by step. The Aria showed the Wifi connection but nothing on the Dashboash.
Next, I weight myself and it say "No Sync".
Is this a piece of equipment that I need to return? I have serious doubts about the equipment being able to connect to Wifi.

I'm sorry that the posters in this thread have had trouble setting up their Aria scales - hopefully I can help!
Here are our two primary setup resources - be sure to check these out:
That first link will detail two separate setup methods - the first involves the Fitbit downloadable setup software, and should be the easiest way to get setup. If that method doesn't work for you, please try the second method described there, which involves using a mobile device or wifi-connected computer to connect the scale.
Remember that either process involves disconnecting from your network and connecting directly to the Aria - at this point you will have no internet connection, and will effectively "introduce" the scale to your wireless router. Once that process is completed, your scale should be able to sync.
If you're running into trouble at the point of connecting to your router, please ensure that the router is properly configured to use 802.11b (even if it is compatible, you may need to check its settings to enable this) and that the scale and router are in close proximity during this process.
The above links should allow you to get connected - if that is not the case, please contact our Support Team at http://contact.fitbit.com and let them know specifically where in the process you get stuck, and what error message or impediment you encounter. They will be happy to help you get setup!

I had to re do the Aria scale set up 3 times before it finally worked.
Each time the Aria scale went through the joining, linking, linked and displayed a tick; but when I stepped on the scale, and although it showed the weight etc, the connection subsequently failed.
The scale went through the sending routine but each time ended with the cross displayed on the scale, indicating the info had not been able to be received by fitbit, from the scale - and the dashboard indicated that the readings had not been received although it did say, at all times that the Aria was connected.
The setup process that finally worked was the second time I used the web based setup, not the install routine setup.
This was a replacement Aria sent to me by fitbit as the first one failed 2 months after purchase. Oh and the fitbit band has now come apart twice. Fitbit are good at after sales replacements but it appears they may have significantly higher quality control problems than most others.

I just got my Aria for Christmas and it does the same thing....I think you need to be patient as it takes a while for it to determine your weight. When it's done it will say "OFF", then you step off and it will display your weight. That's how mine has been working. Now if I could figure out how to the BF to show. It keeps showing "BF?".

Yes, I do have my personal info setup in my profile. I haven't had any luck finding anything in the fitbit help site. I have sent an email to customer service, so I'll wait to see if they respond.

Fitbit replaced the scales no problem and they work fine now.
The fitbit environment is fantastic but they really have significant
quality control problems - or so my experience would seem to suggest.
I normally never have any problems with mechanical devices, and are a
prolific consumer of them, however the reliability I have experienced with
fitbit is very poor.
The big redeeming fitbit feature is they speedily replace. For me they have
had to replace EVERY yes EVERY fitbit product I have ever purchased (and I
cannot ever recall having purchased a product that failed before):
1. The wrist band on my first fit bit was replaced twice, yes twice, as it
twice separated where the plastic changed within days of first use.
2. My Aria scale broke after about 3 months perfect use - nothing visible
it just refused to link to the internet one day, apparently a common
problem.
3. My Fitbit charge never did receive notifications from my Samsung phone,
as it ought and Fitbit are currently sending me another.
The Fitbit environment is very good and probably worth the poor
reliablility issues - at least until a competitor appears. All my
measurements come together in one place (including food information from
mynetdiary) and regular health commentary sent to me.

I did end up contacting customer support and as we speak, a new Aria is being sent to me. It's too bad they have quality control issues, but I'm glad they are standing behind their products.....as long as they continue that, I will continue to be a customer.
I currently have the Zip which has been working fine and I haven't had any issues. Now knowing how good they are with replacing items, I will consider getting another model with more features however I had heard that the wrist bands are not as accurate. @RTMJ Do you have any feedback on the wrist bands vs. the clips?

I have no accuracy problems with the wrist bands in that I used google maps
to get an accurate distance walked and it was about 100 metres out in 6 kms
ie about 100 yards in 3.6 miles so close enough. Also I was given a Samsung
Gear 2 which gives similar answers to the fitbit - slightly different but
again close enough.
The whole Fitbit environment is very good, particularly compared to what
say Samsung offer. The Gear collects a whole lot of information right down
to heart beats but thats all - does nothing with it all, that is no advice
or feedback and no ability to pass the info to another app

I was sent a new aria. It's a great system but with suspect product quality control. My fitbit has also been replaced - a couple of times now.

Are you kidding? 802.11b??? That's is literally 15 year old technology. My wifi router doesn't even support it, let alone have it enabled. Why in the world would would you be so cheap to use that ancient standard that no one supports anymore? Gah. What a waste of time.

Can't get Aria setup to work. Apparently the problem is that I installed a new router and created a new network name. When I go through the Aria setup routine it automatically tries to join the former network, which no longer exists. It says that I can tap to change network but I have tried tapping at multiple locations own the scale with no success.

I love your product but your instructions are not good. Please consider hiring a manufacturing or process engineer or a tech pubs writer familiar with writing work instructions.

I'm having a similar issue, except I have sent the invite to my daughter multiple times and cannot locate how to accept it. Email, fitbit.com profile page, notifications, doesn't matter -it doesn't show up anywhere. And when she weighs it shows up as guest and won't let me assign the weigh-in to her because she's not a joined user. We've resent the invite twice from different devices, through mine and my husband's fitbit accounts (he's a authorized user on the scale), and still cannot find it.

The facts that the Aria can not handle hyphens or periods in a network SSID is unacceptable. Most standard network names contain this for homes. Horrible UX that I have to change my SSID, then reconnect every single smart item in my home just to support this one device’s limitations. Just bad UX.
