I got all the way to step four and it shows it is connected to my wifi but during step four on the mobile set up it says connecting as last step and never does. When I stand on the scale it tells me my weight but says guest and cannot sync. Help please !

I've just been checking on the site and wonder whether you ever received a solution to your problem with the Aria. I have 2 Aria scales in two different locations and each one has the same problem, although not all the time. I also find that the scale spontaneously starts on it's own with the same message of "step on or step off, sensing". The same looping endless message, using up the batteries for who knows how long as usually I'll just notice it as I step into the bathroom.
I have the same issue with both of my Aria (two different homes) scales but it's periodic. It's very frustrating and causes me to not recommend the scale to friends. My scales (both!) also spontaneously start up with the same rotating message of "step on" or "thinking", over and over in a loop. Who knows how long this has been running before I spot it. I use up a lot of batteries in my scales! I'm not seeing this in the forums as a big issue and yet I have the same issue with both of my scales. I'd love to solve the problem. Any suggestions?

Have you tried just removing the batteries and then reinserting them? The scale should restart, which may help solve the issue.

Hi Hinder90 -
How do you change the 2.4 network to legacy mode?

you don't. you enable "b" on the 2.4 gz. it also doesn't slow down your router as mentioned. typically most modern devices will default to your 5 ghz side.
make sure you name the 2.4 differently than the 5. like tom and harry or whatever.
if you have a cisco model DPC3941T router with the DPC3941_2.8p24s1_PROD_sey firmware then wait for FB to produce a fix.
hopefully they will. don't let the yahoos get you wound up by telling you that FB sucks because they use "outdated" technology. if you really want top get ticked off at using outdated tech look at the auto industry.
Take your socks off.

I just got my Aria scale replacement yesterday. Went to set it up today, and it doesn't work either.

Hi everyone! I want to follow up on this issue and would like to know a few details so I can assist you accordingly: What is the make and model of your routers? Have you made changes to your networks (router, WiFi password or router settings)?
If you have tried the restart process that recommended my friend @DramaQueenDiva, please make sure that your scales are placed on an even or flat surface.
Looking forward to your replies!

@Stone520 Thank you for providing more details of your router. Please make sure that your router runs the protocol 802.11b, the bandwidth is 2.4GHz and your WiFi password is alphanumerical only.
This information can be reviewed with your Internet service provider. After checking these details, try the setup process one more time.
Let me know how it goes!

@Stone520 If your WiFi password contains letters and numbers is ok. Since the issue persists, please take a look at the post that I shared in this thread, where I posted an update for this issue.
Keep me posted if you have any doubts!

Whole thing is rubbish. I followed all the trouble shooting instructions only to be told that my internet is too fast. Yep, if you have high speed internet, don't even waste your time buying this scale as you will not be able to get it to synch to anything. Their suggestion was to call my internet provider and ask for them to slow it down 5G....yeah right. For reference I am in Australia and connected to NBN.

@Sarjay I truly appreciate your feedback about the router standards that are needed to connect the Aria scale to WiFi. This info will be forwarded to our team since this helps us to keep improving.

Remark: DNS settings should be set-up as automatic (so coming from the router / Fitbit Aria) and not defined manually in the operating system settings, otherwise the redirection from"http://1.scale.www.fitbit.com/scale/setup" to "http://192.168.240.1/scale/setup" will not work.

I found the only way to set up was to use a laptop. Other methods work but are just too hard because you need to flip between both screens and wifi connections. Easy enough on a laptop but too hard on a phone or tablet - and difficult on a cable connected desktop computer.
