Hi everyone! It has come to our attention that some users are experiencing issues with syncing/setting up Aria scales with Comcast/Xfinity routers and we are currently reviewing.
There is a workaround that has helped most users. For this, follow the instructions below:
Thank you all for your patience. Any update available, I'll make sure to share it in this thread.

I am having the same issue. The "solution page" gives me "access denied". I have removed my Aria1 from my Fitbit account, set up a separate 2.4Ghz SSID, set it to b/g/n, and WPA2, set it to the lowest channel and tried to connect about 15x now. This is infuriating.
Ever since the original Fitbit, I've had multiples of every model. Many had design flaws and I was patient. This and the Pebble were my last Fitbit devices and theyre both done now 😞

My RENPHO arrives today. I'm a network engineer and I cannot create a wifi network that lets my Aria online LOLLLL.

I too have this problem countless hours trying to connect to my network which is a new network and router. I am in Canada on the Rogers network. Do you have a workaround for me. Thanks
Elaine

The workaround may be rapidly disappearing. Comcast states that this option, and several others, have been removed from consumer control and placed into automated control. This is because the devices they provide need to have a single name and frequency in order to work correctly.
So, looks like I have an Aria scale that is only a scale, no longer a connected scale. And, as my fitbit is no longer amongst the living, I guess I'm pretty much off the fitbit platform; unless I buy all new equipment.

Unfortunately, the option you described no longer works for my network. Comcast says the option has been removed from consumer control.
Thanks for the suggestion though

I had a chat with Fitbit support and was given the settings to access the proper Fitbit network. I was told to contact my ISP. I contacted my ISP they made the changes requested by Fitbit and it still didn’t work. Note that before quitting the initial Fitbit chat I was told that the possibility existed that even with the proper change made by my ISP I may not be able to access the Fitbit network which means the scale is just a regular scale like everybody else’s problem. This is indicative of all the blog posts and people having trouble connecting also indicative of the reason why Fitbit stock has dropped. In my opinion they’re not doing enough to maintain their clients in the face of competition from the likes of Apple. It’s clear Fitbit’s not going to do anything so we are SOL.

My xfinity router let me create a separate SSID for the 2.4ghz network. However nothing I've done is allowing the Aria to connect. I was invited to open a case but honestly, the Aria is so old they won't warranty replace it anyway so I don't see the point.

The problem is likely that you can not use the Xfinity router for the second (parallel) network as it doesn't support the 802.11b protocol. You need to use a second router (and SSID) that supports this protocol such as an older Linksys router. It can then be plugged into the second ethernet port on the Xfinity router. Bottom line is, Xfinity routers no longer support the 802.11b protocol. You need set up a separate physical router to support the Aria scale.

That sure is odd because my 2.4Ghz network specifically says 802.11b. If Fitbit would tell us the darn specs, maybe we could make this work. I've tried every channel as well. I'm about to break out my enterprise network equipment for this crap but it's not worth my energy. I'm using this (Wireless Gateway 3/TG1682G because I was Arris certified and also I am lazy. My $30 Renpho seems to sync via BT to Apple Health happily.

Those sure were words... 802.11 refers to a wireless standard developed by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). B is just an old standard that the router needs to broadcast on, which came after the original 802.11 standard. Then 802.11a came along and was faster and broadcast on 5GHz instead of 2.4. Then g, then n, then ac.

I SOLVED THE PROBLEM. It was never a Wifi problem, I've changed nothing about my 802.11b 2.4GHZ guest network on an Xfinity modem. Even though I did a hard reset on the scale, removed all users from the the scale via Fitbit.com, and removed the scale from my account through my Fitbit.com dashboard, there was an iPad in the house with the FitBit app on it and it had the scale listed. I removed the scale from the app on the iPad and the scale magically worked on my Wifi. I AM BESIDE MYSELF.

Gosh, sorry to hear that. I was simply positing that the problem was not necessarily WiFi router related.

I just started with xFinity this week and have been unable to get my Aria attached. Does this only happen with the newest routers? I see your message about changing the settings on xfinity, but have concern about downstream capabilities after I make the tech change. is there a long term issue if I make these xfinity system changes?
