Hi everyone! It has come to our attention that some users are experiencing issues with syncing/setting up Aria scales with Comcast/Xfinity routers and we are currently reviewing.
There is a workaround that has helped most users. For this, follow the instructions below:
Thank you all for your patience. Any update available, I'll make sure to share it in this thread.

Fitbit is ignoring the issue and keeps saying it’s a Comcast issue not there’s. Unfortunately they have been unresponsive to fix the issue. I can tell you if you purchase your own router and do not use the one you rent from Comcast your scale should work. The issue appears to be with the Comcast router
Your other option is to by a different scale that will work no matter what provider you have. I purchased RENPHO and it is very inexpensive and syncs with my Fitbit

Exactly right Sue, the latest Xfinity/Comcast routers no longer support the 802.11b protocol which is the only wireless protocol supported by the first generation Aria. So, save yourself a lot of grief and purchase a Renpho.

What is your experience with the Renpho? Are there apps with which it syncs? Never heard of it.

I love the Renpho, it tracks a lot more stats than Fitbit and provides insights like metabolic age and the progress reports are more detailed and user friendly.
There is a Renpho app and I linked it to my Fitbit account which was really easy to do (I haven't tried or looked for others to sync with). When I'm in my FitBit app, I wouldn't know that I switched scales. You'll still see in the dashboard all the same data, just imported from the Renpho

I love my Renpho scale. It syncs with my Fitbit. Works way better than the Aria

What do you do if they is no option for b/g/n.
I have an option for n or g,n. No b option at all

This doesn't work on the new xFi system. The option to switch is no longer available. The Aria is basically reduced to being a normal scale now....

The link to the workaround gives me a “you don’t have permission to access this page” error. So... not sure where to go now.
i’m signed in and just trying to get my Aria to work again after changing the batteries.

Hi there. With the xfi routers, the b network isn’t an option anymore. Will there be an aria firmware update so it can connect to a g/n instead? Without that, the scale is useless.

Posting this here hoping it will help someone. There are quite a few issues with the Aria. You would think that the device will come supporting new WiFi standards but it does not. In summary:
- Does not support 5GHz, so you will need to use the band 2.4GHz. Most WiFi routers or extenders give the option to have them both enabled.
- Make sure you have 802.11b enabled as well on your WiFi router or extender.
- The WiFi password cannot be complex. Alphanumeric will do, but not too long. For instance, I had to enable a second network with a non-complex password to get that part to work. You can always use guest wifi for this.
If your WiFi on your Aria broke after getting a new Gateway OR router, take a look at the configurations and note the above suggestions.
It took me over three hours to figure all this out and get a new Aria 2 out of the box properly working.
Here is also more details on HOW MY setup in case you need to redo the setup as well:
-----
Basically there are steps that you need to follow but Fitbit does not explain them well.
After turning on the AriaI had issues with the iOS App and W10 App finding the device.
How did I fix it? I turned ON the Bluetooth and paired the Aria 2 before trying to set up from either APP.
I tried this from both, the iOS app and W10 App. The setup went smooth if I paired the Aria first!
Now after I fixed that I was able to get to the part where I would connect the Aria 2 to the WiFi. The Aria was not finding my WiFi and after many tries it finally found it but it did not connect stating the connection was weak.
While working on this I realized that the Aria does not support 5GHz. So if you do not have the 2.4GHz channel enabled on your WiFi router or extender, go ahead and do so.
The Aria was not connecting to any other WiFi broadcasted by my router I thought at first it was because I had many other devices connected to the WiFi already, but I came down with two theories: It could have been because the standard 802.11b is not enabled OR other devices on the 2-4GHz band were not letting the Aria pick up an IP address successfully.
I performed a test and enabled Guest WiFi. Well, Guest WiFi worked which supported my theory. I went ahead and created VLANs on my router and assigned one of them for the Aria. Not all routers/gateways support VLAN, in this case, try with the guest wifi. I haven't had any issues since then.
TL;TR
Make sure 2.5GHz band is enabled on your home WiFi.
Make sure you have 802.11b enabled as well on your WiFi router or extender.
Connect Aria 2 to Bluetooth before setup.
You might need to enable guest wifi to connect the Aria OR create a VLAN on your router for it. Test with different WiFis if possible so that you can determine what you need to do.

I hope this helps someone else. I was very disappointed reading all these posts about how the Aria scale no longer works with Comcast routers. We just moved and had xFi installed last week. I spent a good hour or so trying to figure out why my scale couldn't find any networks. Spoiler alert! Comcast's xFi doesn't support wireless 802.11b anymore. It's disappointing for sure. Without having done much research on it, I don't expect Fitbit to do anything about it. They gambled on inferior/cheap wireless units that had limited capability. They gambled and we lost because we're the suckers for buying them at $120 a pop.
@JuanJoFitbit - those instructions no longer work. Comcast has removed b from the lineup of signals their routers (at least my model) transmit.
What I was able to do was plug in a WiFi range extender that I had bought at Amazon. It communicates with the router and then transmits in multiple bands, including B.
Here's a link to it if anyone is interested: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0195Y0A42/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Using that I was able to successfully join my Aria to the network!
Good luck!

My router is a TP Link AC 1750. We just got it in July, my scale says it is linked to my network but constantly has an ERR error on it and won’t even weigh me

Welcome to the world of Fitbit Aria. It will be cheaper and easier for you to purchase a Renpho scale. It will sync with you Fitbit, do more and cost less than your other options
