There has been a consistent difficulty with setting up the Aria Air scale since Fitbit moved to Google. When attempting to pair the device, an error occurs. Scale issue.jpg

Create a new Fitbit account here: <>
https://accounts.fitbit.com/signup

BUT READ CAREFULLY when you go through the steps that you DO NOT choose any
GOOGLE choice.

They want you to choose a Google account...

And yes, you need to provide a new email address... that is not a
Google/Gmail account

Thanks for the tip. I just used apple hide my email. Anyhow, this is a good
workaround for now! Totally community based work, and Google left us all
out to dry.

I did make a new account using a non-Google email.
Immediately it says my login details are incorrect on both the web-site and the app. I am basically stuck with Google.

I decided to reset the password using the same email and it doesn't actually send me a link to do so.

I wonder is this is just me and I am doing something stupid here? I know my email is correct and the password is genrated and stored by a password manager so I doubt it was incorrect.

Yeah it’s ridiculous. You gotta keep flipping through screens to finish
putting in your details. It will keep telling you your info is wrong til
you get your details input.

Hi Lizzy,

Any feedback on this issue? It has been months now and my aria air scale is still not working.

She won’t respond. She only responds to comments that she thinks are
against Fitbit

To be fair to the moderators here, they have no updated information as it seems Fitbit has abandoned this product. What else can they say for updates?

If she’s even a real person. She could be an AI bot.

Hi

Thanks for your post, I finally can see some light at the end of the tunnel!
But I still seem to be doing something wrong to get it working completely.

Are these the correct steps?

1. Delete the scale from Google Fitbit account
2. Create new Fitbit account with Non-Google email
3. Login and Setup the scale with the new Fitbit account
4. Invite your Google Fitbit account as a user to share the Scale with
5. Accept the email invite sent to the Google Fitbit account
6. Login into app with Google Fitbit account
7. Goto weight and step on scale
8. Weight records to Google Fitbit acocunt

I'm stuck at step 7.
When I step on the scale, it still asks me to set up the scale?
Even though under my devices, the scale it set up already ?
What am I doing wrong?

They have deleted other threads about this too. Ones that I had posted my fix in.

And, now, apparently, they are blocking people from creating new, non-Google accounts?! That's really dirty, Google.

If you wanted to just up and abandon your products and customers, the least you could do is release the firmware API so we can do this ourselves.

They could stop lying to us.

The scale will not pair with a Google account, initially or by sharing.

There's no way past it. You can only pair and use the scale from a non-Google account.

I genuinely cannot believe that it is November and yet this has been a known problem since July.  I bought my Aria Air before any of this started but it's still for sale on your website and IT DOESN'T WORK AS ADVERTIZED!!!  Why can the biggest technology company on planet Earth NOT figure out how to make a scale work?  I measure's gravitational force relative to mass on a planer surface then is supposed to transmit it to a small handheld device.  You know what else does that?  Fitness trackers that you guys sell.  Between this and how buggy the Fitbit app is, I'm ready to find something else that actually works.  This has to be a joke that Google is laughing at us about.  These people clearly have nothing but contempt for their customers.

Is there any news yet? Received my new Aria Air scale today, but if it isnt fixed yet, I will return it.

Same issue, glad to find out it was not me, but i have wasted a lot of time trying to resolve this!

I think google should get us Apple Watches until they fix this! 🙂

Like I could remember to charge a watch twice a day..?

I think this is just something the fitbit staff are laughing about now and I also feel totally gagged here as I have had two posts deleted and no explanation as to which elements of them breached community rules

This product sucks... the comapny sucks..!

So what's the latest?  I still can't sync my Aria - it's been 11 months now.

The demise of Fitbit is disappointing. Time to consider Apple perhaps 🤔
