9/23 Update:
See the new firmware thread here
9/22 Update:
For those that have the firmware update already, new clock faces have been re-enabled.
We've continued the rollout process. If you don't yet have the update, please be patient. We'll post updates about the rollout when we have more information.
9/19 Update:
Hey everyone - it seems like we're struggling to maintain civil conversation on this topic, so I'm going to go ahead and lock the thread. We'll open a new thread once the firmware update goes into wider distribution. Until then, here are answers to the questions that keep getting asked here:
When will I be able to download the latest update?
The update is on hold while our team addresses an issue found at the beginning of the release. Once their work is complete, we will start rolling it out again. We generally don't announce specific dates or timeframes, but you will see the update on your dashboard as soon as it is available. The only thing you need to do right now is wait patiently.
Why did you release the latest update to only a small percentage of users?
We've done tons of testing on this new firmware, but there can still be unexpected issues when we release it. If every Blaze customer updated at once, those surprises would affect everyone. Instead, we use an incremental release to observe and address issues on a relatively small scale. We definitely want the best experience possible for our Blaze customers, and a slow, cautious release helps accomplish that goal.
If only 5% of Blaze users have the update now, does that mean 10% will have it next week and 15% will have it the week after? Won't that take forever?
Nope! We aren't moving in 5% increments. We started the release at 5% and will increase it in much larger increments once we are confident that it's good to go. You should receive it soon.
Why haven't you communicated this information to customers?
All this information was previously posted in this thread, and also added to the lead post. Any time you find a discussion of an emerging issue or a newly-released update, make sure to check the first post for the latest information. We aim for clear, concise, transparent, and frequent communication - you should always find what you need in the lead post.
9/15 Update:
The new Blaze update is currently available only to a very small percentage of users, as we are troubleshooting some emerging issues. It will be released more widely soon. Once it is available, you will see a banner at the top of your website or mobile app dashboard. Thanks for your patience!
Hey everyone!
We're rolling out a new update for Blaze, release notes below:
This release also resolves the following issue:
Important to note: A sync is required after a manual shutdown or a battery drain in order to show the correct time on Blaze. This is especially important for your activity tracked by Blaze because you'll want to make sure it's associated with the current date and time.
The initial wave of users will receive the update starting September 12th, 2016, and will eventually be rolled out to everyone within a few days. If the update to the latest firmware version is not yet available for your Blaze, just hang tight!

@meresydotes Thanks for your info. Anyway, it seems that it syncs when I setup the tracker in the first time. It could retrieve my daily activities, and told me that last sync was a few minutes ago. Anyway, after that it could not auto-sync anymore (tracker needs set up). Do the firmware update automatically done during the first setup? or I have to execute the update command (pink icon which I never saw)?

@SanFit I guess I missed the part where it syncs when you set it up and actually lets you set it up. It should definitely download updates when it's set up as a new device. However, if I was having the problem you're having, I probably would have called on the first day and had a replacement by now. I'm a loudmouthed rabblerouser.
Actually, you've provided me some helpful information. Because I'm always last to get everything, I was tempted to set my Blaze up as a new device, thinking that new devices would automatically get the latest updates. I probably would have tried it by now if the update rollout wasn't so FUBAR.

@AndrewFitbit Still checking... Still no response. I have the same issue of no watch faces as several other users. The reason I'm asking if I need to do anything is simple. When I go to the setting on Dashboard it says I have the old firmware. The iPhone app says I have the new firmware. This makes me wonder whether or not it will fix itself. Will I be prompted to update the firmware again? Since your system thinks I have both will this even happen.
BTW... Just my 2 cents but given the problems we are all having maybe Fitbit can roll out the added fitness calculations that the super advanced Charge 2 has to the less advanced more expensive (obsolete?) Blaze. Remember...you aren't judged by the mistakes you make. Only by how you fix them.

@brocka In the past, I've noticed a pink banner at the top of the Android app when I'm "invited" to update. You can just tap on that and update from your phone. If you're able to connect with the PC app (I'm not, thanks for fixing your bugs, fitbit!), you can also open the menu and click "check for device updates" and it will let you know. Actually, I think it may also show the pink banner on the PC dashboard. Trust me, you'll know, is what I'm saying.

It seems that the firmware update is now get stuck due to the FitBit server bandwidth capacity.
I am just wondering why FitBit does not release any standalone utility (for PC or Mac) or app (apk for Android and for other Mobile Phones), so that every segments in the internet world could help distributing the firmware update (software download website, torrent, forum, e-mail and any social network application)?

After doing the upgrade, I no longer have the "Workout" exercise shortcut on my watch. It is enabled in the application, but it doesn't show up on the watch. How do I fix that?
Thanks,
Kent

What about the problem with the steps and distance not working correctly?
Has that been fixed??
Have you tried resetting your stride? It worked for me. I have a longer stride than the default used for my age and size estimate. There are instructions for it in the help. As far as the Connected GPS, all it does is use the mapping to show your route. It is not actually using GPS for distance. Hope this helps.

Same thing here. Haven't recieved the update. Has it been pulled due to all the troubles people are having? Or are the servers just overloaded?

I still don't have the update either. I think last time it took a few days though. @AndrewFitbit How often are they sending out the update to a new group?

I'm liking the "Circuit" watchface the best!
Lucky enough to install early yesterday before the problems began.

you have to meet your step goals for the day before you can get in line for download..
okay - just joking. it comes when it comes but I'm guessing no one is currently getting it while they work out the issues encountered in the first batch of folks.
now - back to my original post - wouldn't it be cool to have to meet some sort of fitbit challenge to get a new watch face?
