Hello everyone, I have a LG V10 and have just received the Fitbit Blaze.  I'm having trouble with the mulitiple text messages that is being sent to my phone.  Even if I delete the messages from my Blaze it will send the same message at least 3 to 4 extra times.  On my phone I am using Go Sms Pro as my default messaging app and have never had an issue with it before.  Is there anyone else that is currently having this issue....please help.

"Fit Notifications" app seems to have fixed it for me... love that I can add Facebook messenger in too!

Just added it... tested with a text to myself. Will need more time with it to know for sure if this is the end of multiple messages and new messenger notifications hopefully!

Those of you who are having problems with notifications, I may have a solution for you. Recently I changed my messages app to Messenger for sms and facebook messages, it works perfectly, the downside with this app is that it doesn't allow customization and you only have one notification for everybody. I recently downloaded another sms app today called Next Sms. You can customize this app for all conversations, plus have a set tone for them. I recommend you try mp3 cutter for music notifications to add to your contacts. This Next Sms app has worked for me, it might work for you too.

For all of those having trouble with notifications...
I have a suggestion for you...
1 app is the Messenger App
The messenger app can be used as both sms and Facebook Messenger. It doesn't allow different notifications for different contacts, however it does support Fitbit Notifications and doesn't show duplicates on your blaze's screen.

2 Next SMS App
The Next Sms app allows assigned message tones, notifcation tones to your contacts plus you can change background for different contacts, in other words it is customizable. It supports Fitbit Notifications and doesn't show duplicate messages on your Fitbit Blaze.

P.S. if you download MP3 Cutter, you can cut any song you want and save it has a ringtone or notification message tone and assign them to your contacts.

I hope this was helpful.

The "Fit Notifications" app which seemed to work briefly for me last night has failed me today... Now getting multiple text and Facebook messages. Maybe there is a setting that I need to change to stop the multiples but have yet to figure it out.

Tried Next SMS and it did stop double messages on the Blaze but I also stopped receiving Facebook messages.

Next going to try Facebook as my all in one message app. Idk how this will work out yet, I really like messages plus app

For what it is worth, I am seeing the exact same issue using my Fitbit Blaze and my Droid Turbo 2 phone.  I have the latest and greatest Blaze firmware installed as well, which is 17.8.200.3.  I spent the better part of an hour working with Fitbit support to resolve the matter without succes.  I use Message+ (Verizon Text app) and have the multiple message problem occur.  At Fitbit's recommendation I tried turning on Goggle Hangout and selecting it as the application for Text Notification as well as regular Message on the phone and with either of these selected in the Fitbit app as the Text notification I recevied no message notification at all.

I also tried several times to unpair the tracker, remove it from Bluetooth and then reconnect the tracker, they also had me uninstall and reinstall the app. none of this worked.  Finally, they just came out and said that currently they do not have a fix for this problem.

Earlier firmware releases did not have this issue but it appears that this one has a problem.  So, it looks like this is an issue that Fitbit development is aware of and that they will be fixing in an upcoming update.

The app, Fit Notifications, is the best/easiest fix available at the moment. Seriously. It doesn't replace your existing messaging client, it just forwards the notification to the watch. Just give it a go if you're pulling your hair out with support etc.

Hey folks, so I've waited for a while to post this because I wanted to see
how it went for a couple weeks. This is what fixed it for me. Many others
in this thread have posted their results using the app 'Fit
Notifications'. This app not only solved the problem for me but it also
added EXTRA functionality to my Blaze.

I have a Note 5, I use the message+ app for texts, but I also use hangouts,
gmail for email, and dating apps. I can get notifications from all of
these apps....you can set up 'Fit Notifications' to send you notifications
from any app that notifies you. It's great and I can't recommend this app
enough.

Settings: I only turned on the "Delay" option in settings, it is set to
relay a notification every 8 seconds. This setting works great for me.

Repeated notifications do happen but this is to be EXPECTED in the
situations I will outline. If I get a text and read it on my Blaze, unlock
my phone (BUT I DON"T READ THE MESSAGE ON MY PHONE WHICH LEAVES IT UNREAD)
when I lock my phone I will get another notification that I have a text
message. This is what should happen because the message+ app will send
another notification once the phone is locked because the phone doesn't
know you've read the message on your Blaze.

The same repeated notification behavior happens with gmail and hangouts.
This will happen with any app that notifies you of a message etc... if you
don't acknowledge the message by opening the app.

You can probably remove those repeated notifications by changing a
"reminder" type setting in the app in question. I am going to unsubscribe
from this thread because I consider the issue solved. Granted it took a
third party to do it, but who cares. That's the American way. I'm just
surprised and thankful I didn't have to pay for fit notifications. If
anyone from the 'Fit Notifications' teams reads this; thanks, you did
great.

Cheers everyone and stay active!

This is all subjective to what you like and what your needs are:

~ I uninstalled Next SMS, didn't like it at all

~ I am currently using Facebook messenger as my messenger and SMS text app. Everything is working perfectly. Don't even need fit notifications to use it this way.

~ Ideally I would like to go back to using messages + (Verizon app) for my texting, and if Fitbit ever fixes this issue of multiple texts being sent then I will (might) go back to that, perhaps. **Only downside I can forsee is I would need to go back to fit notifications to get my Facebook messages to come through, but wonder if those would double up again *shrug*

I will continue to use Facebook as my everything messages app and hopefully it will grow on me

Thanks!!!

I hope everyone has found a solution that fits them!

Possibly

For what it's worth, I went back to using Messages+ as my sms messenger (got tired of using Facebook for sms), stopped using "Fit Notifications" so no longer get FB messenger notifications either. At first the multiple texts were still coming through and I just lived with it however, within the last couple of weeks (I forget exactly when), I no longer recieve multiple texts on my Blaze!!

I no longer receive multiple texts on my Blaze!!

Thank you FitBit?!

I've had this issue since forever. in Android, it's because the notification system sets one notification for the lock screen, and one notification for the main notification drawer. I wish there were a way to filter them, but unfortunately not. some default texting apps only set one notification, but I use ChompSMS which sets one with the message body (notification drawer), and then one with either the message body or a message count (lock screen).

note: that the 'lock screen' notifications aren't solely used for the lock screen, they're also used as alternatives in the event that the notification drawer gets too crowded. if you have 20 notifications, then your music controls will get smaller, and your messengers will use their more compact notifications.

Check your FB, they are apparently using Messenger as a text app (without asking or giving a way to opt out). that might be the source of you duplicates.

Another poster suggested the Fit Notifications App. It takes some tweaking,
but it is really nice for multiple app notifications. Anything that has
push notifications can be added to the list. Only issue I have is if I
don't clear the notification on my phone within the specified time, then
I'll get another notice.

I did read that and it works well! There's an option in the settings that you can have it auto dismiss from your phone so that doesn't happen.

There has to be an easier way to fix this than combing this entire message board! Also, I have absolutely no desire to use Facebook messenger as my default messaging app, that is absurd. I try to avoid Facebook like the plague.

I find the repeat notifications really irksome. I also find it annoying that it vibrates THREE times to indicate a text message...that is an excessive amount of vibration. I want to be able to customize that.
