RESOLVED: Daylight Saving Time: Sunday, March 10, 2019

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Update: Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding with issues related to Daylight Saving Time changes. If you are still seeing unexpected behavior on your device, please perform a manual sync by following these steps. Once your device has synced, you should see everything working properly again.

If this doesn't help, we'd expect the next midnight rollover tonight to help get things back to normal. We apologize for the inconvenience, and are ensuring that the concerns in this thread are heard by the larger team.

Daylight Saving Time will take place in North America (and some of Central America) this Sunday morning. Some features on your Fitbit device may be affected. These issues should be resolved by syncing after the time change. If you continue to have trouble with any of the following features, please proceed with the troubleshooting steps below:

Sleep logs may be off by an hour and graphs may show incorrect data
- Try editing your sleep log to reflect the correct amount of sleep by following the steps here.

Hourly Activity Goals and Reminders To Move may change to a different timeframe
- We recommend switching Reminders To Move to “off” so that you aren’t receiving these reminders until the issue is sorted. You can re-enable the feature the next day.

Device time may be off by one hour
- Restart your phone to make sure the time is correct there first, and then manually sync your device.

Silent alarms may be off by one hour
- We recommend setting a backup alarm on your phone or clock if you need to be woken up on Sunday morning. Your device's alarms should be accurate as soon as your the time updates by syncing with an phone/computer that shows the correct time.

We recommend turning on All Day Sync so that your device has the best chance of being up to date on Sunday. Once your device has synced and updated to the new time, you should be all set. If you've tried the above troubleshoots and still have difficulty, rest assured that these issues should resolve themselves the next day. Thank you for your understanding.

Also activity and reminders to move, it is 2:04 but it says I walked 25 steps 3:00-3:15, anything related to time is forward an additional hour.

The time updated on my Android but yesterday’s data never cleared out. So frustrating to go thru this each time there is a time change and when tracking the data is so important. “Wait” should not be an acceptable answer after so many years of the same excuses.

Spoiler
The 10 min warning for 250 steps went off at 11:50am and my Fitbit device went black. Can still feel it buzz but screen is black.

Time delay on Fitbit Charge 3, manual sync not working, android sync not working, dashboard on website not working, software update not working, twitter support team not responding......is anything BAU on Fitbit site today????

Mine (a Fitbit Versa, well under a year old) is broken now because of this. It was working perfectly, and as soon as the time change happened the screen became unresponsive.  This is reaaaallly frustrating.

I tried to factory reset it, and that isn't working with the buttons.

There has to be some sort of solution to this, or maybe a firmware update or we can get replacements for watches busted by this?

My tracker updated to the correct time, but my exercise and heart rate are off by an hour on the app itself... Will this fix itself as well?

My state does not change to daylight savings and I cannot get my versa to sync time. I've done all the steps and nothing works. I also noticed when we went to another state in a different time zone, i could never get the watch time to sync. Everything else did but the time. Please help.

Can you please get your software team to get their act together. Time doesn't suddenly jump back and forth twice a year due to daylight time, or whenever we travel across time zones - it's only our convention about labeling time that changes. Time just keeps on ticking. Please ask your engineers to use UTC for all event tracking and calculations, and use local time only for display purposes and alarms. It's 2019, all these issues have been solved already many times over.

Absolutely correct. This is ridiculous!

Where are the solutions for a blank screen? My Charge 3 is blank. Have connected it to the charger and synced it, still blank. Very frustrating. Hello?! IT help anywhere?

My fitbit worked very early this morning.  Mid morning the display on my device stopped working.  It syncs to my app but my Fitbit screen is black.  No visual.

I walked more than the necessary steps in the first hour of my 250+ hourly fitbit reminders, but it did not show today. I had checked prior to syncing and the time had adjusted on my fitbit as well as my phone, I walked in both the 9:00am and 10:00am hours, I have rebooted my phone, and I have synced it, but my phone is showing I missed getting the steps in the 9am hour, which is super frustrating when I know good and well I didn't.

I've been trying to update to daylight savings time all day. Both phone and tablet show updated time, but Fitbit won't update after numerous syncs and restarting my phone.

Same thing happened to me. It sure is frustrating.

And now mine (Versa) is not working at all, black screen, will not sync, nothing. Was fine right until time change, than poof. There better be a solution.

Some features of the Fitbit app “may have issues” with Daylight Savings Time.  Well, it really messes up on recording and syncing my “250 steps per hour” feature.  For instance today when I did my stepping for the 1:00 hour, it skipped the grey dot for the current hour and colored the tiny 2:00 hour dot red instead. It did the same for the 4:00 hour (Turning the 5:00 dot red even though it wasn’t 5:00 yet), even after I had restarted the phone, restarted the app, and manually synced the Fitbit with the app again.  Cmon, guys, DST happens twice a year. You all can get this right.
