Congrats, let's hope it keeps going. My ionic has been bricked since 22nd April and still won't reboot regardless of resets but just keeps flashing the Fitbit logo until battery goes flat, recharged then back to flashing logo. Given up now and got myself a Samsung Active2 watch instead, so far so good. 👍

Hi LouAnn -I would seriously consider taking your Fitbit back and spending the money on another make or Watch / Tracker.
I’ve had nothing but problems since I updated my Ionic - I have sent many messages to Fitbit, they will not explain the issue and only respond with Corporate answers that give Zero explanation. Their customer service is none existent so you will become so tired and frustrated when trying to fix your watch, which Fitbit have completely ruined.

OMG, This update killed my ionic too. It is stuck in the boot screen with fitbit logo. I have already tried rebooting with three buttons and two buttons—nothing. Please help me! I am hoping it will drain battery so I can try again.

Well...
It working now, IDK why exactly
After deal with a bad malfunction I leave over there until the battery was completely dry for a few days, after that I reconnect charger and for an entire night, the next morning with 100% battery I try to reconfigure again and for now it's working.
I dow a full reset.
IDK what happens exactly but Im sure is a fitbit bug because just before update my Ionic was working perfectly.

@Mstaaravin @MattFitbit This seems to be a common event. It happened to me, too, and I've read of others having the same experience as well. The latest firmware update left my Ionic in a vegetative state after getting through about 75% or so of the update. A factory reset failed. I then waited until the battery was completely drained, recharged, and then the factory reset succeeded. Luckily the firmware update then completed successfully.
I have no faith that the Fitbit development team has any clue what they are doing, but this is one bug they really should fix. If they just fixed the factory reset to not be affected by the internal state of the watch, that alone would save much aggravation. Of course, firmware updates that complete successfully in the first place would be great. And finally, updates that don't introduce bugs that could easily be avoided with minimal testing would be really great.

I'm no apple fan but I have to agree "BIG MISTAKE" at this time. Ionic is/ was a very good competitor but Fitbit have slowly been dropping in my view and I've been with Fitbit since 2012. This and some previous updates have made a lot of people's Fitbit devices crash and Fitbit seems reluctant to solve the problem, so like many others, I've had to switch to Samsung as my original gearfit 1 still works and I've recently bought the Active2 watch as a replacement for my Ionic, which is still flashing it's logo in my useless gadgets bin

I am waiting for them to get back to me, in the mean time I will wait for the tracker to drain the battery and try again to see if it will connect to my phone. Thanks for the idea Ed

Since the update, my ionic has been funky af. BPM stuck at 70 for days. Wont record HR during workouts and is not recording my sleep.

Well said Alldo, let's hope Fitbit senior management are listening to their reputation being flushed down to toilet as customer service staff are clearly not able to do anything but what they are told.
All you overworked and probably underpaid customer service staff we the customers don't blame you per say but I'm sure you understand our frustrations.

Update rendered ionic device useless. Attempt to do any function and devices dies and reboots. Now an overpriced paperweight.
Believe in quality control much?

Don’t expect it to work ever again. Don’t expect Fitbit to help you resolve your issue. You are now a new member of the useless Fitbit members club. As a welcome to the club, you will be eligible for 25% off a new paper weight to replace your current or soon to be paper weight. Fitbit does not care if your sensor doesn't work. All they want is for you to buy another one.
