I've used all the troubleshooting tips and having to reboot every day. This started last week. What happened?

The only thing that worked for me was to leave it alone until the battery drained. Once i charged it, it has worked fine since. I know its not a good solution since I didnt use it for days but, there you go...

Update: The plug-in-and-reset solution only worked for me once. It failed to work again last night. Syncing is still a persistent issue, even if I occasionally get a win.
Based on the comments from others, and the evasive and unhelpful experience many have had with FitBit customer service, I now suspect that FitBit is intentionally removing app compatibility for the no-longer-available One devices. Such a terrible customer service move! Disappointing.

Back to plug in and restart to get my One to sync this morning, so with the new dashboard screen, still have to reset it, guess this is what it is for now.

The fix worked, temporarily. Now the Android app is back to not detecting One. I'm wondering if this issue is unique to One devices or if other devices have the same issue? Maybe FitBit wants us to upgrade our One devices to something else and are dragging their feet on resolving the syncing issue?

Mine doesn't. It doesn't recognize the One at all. The only way to sync is to restart either the One, my Android phone, or both.

I wondered the same.... if this is a way to get us to buy a new Fitbit. I love the one--don't want to wear a Fitbit watch. And it seems the only other Fitbit with a clip is the Inspire.

zooooom--my Fitbit one was bought in 2017. It hasn't been syncing with either my Android phone or MacBook Air unless I restart the One or the phone or both. So, I don't think it's an age issue.
Nice idea, though.

So I tried all the ways to sync fitbit one and finally got it to work. But, unfortunately only for a short period of time. If I want to sync I need to do procedure multiple times a day. I don't have access to do this all day. How can I get it to work like it used too?

Sounded good, but didn't work on my Android phone.

Mine stopped syncing about the time the new app was announced even though I chose not to install it. I've had to plug the )#)^&^ in, restart to get my data to sync. I, too, don't want a watch of any kind. I bike and use Garmin Edge for biking, but put the One on my shoe when I bike so that I can "track" relative amounts of exercise from week to week. I'm glad I'm not the only one having this issue, but sad to see that Fitbit seems to be the cause of the problem.
While the Fitbit One does seem to be discontinued, the Fitbit Inspire tracker has a clip accessory that turns it into a Fitbit One: https://www.fitbit.com/shop/accessories/inspire-clip?color=black I expect Fitbit to continue first class support for the One or provide a discounted Inspire.
