@Symbalady they already have phased it out, sometime around 2017. If yours is within their warranty period, they'll replace it free of charge 🙂

It's possible the firmware was a "correlation not necessarily causation" situation. Yes, many of us have dead ones around the time of its release, however, the batteries tend to last for 3-4 years at most. I'm running 6.64 on my [upgraded] One without issues, and getting ~3 weeks between battery charges.

Having same problem with brand new out of box device. Guess Apple Watch here I come...software upgrades shouldn’t cause this much trouble

@Tiffanykell hardware was manufactured a few years ago, unfortunately, sitting uncharged likely caused the battery to drain past the point of recharging.

do you think this would work for fitbit one https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-7V-60-mAh-Polymer-Li-ion-battery-LiPo-For-Mp3-GPS-headset-pen-Sat-nav-350...

I don't know. If going through the effort of opening your tracker and soldering in a new battery, why not buy the ones which are marketed for the One?

I don't know if it's the firmware update or the app update, but my app auto-updated Monday afternoon and my FB stopped syncing at the same time. Battery is fine, it's still counting steps, it just won't sync. I've run through all the trouble-shooting and it's still "looking for device." Beyond frustrating.

Update to obsolescence...sad. Liked my one.

Wow i am concerned after reading these forum posts. My FB One was bought in 2014 and has been used every day since on the original battery. Had a few synching issues in the last few days. i finally got it to synch. But i was on here as the update won't load. i think i have had a lucky escape, as it seems it could kill my beloved One. Fingers crossed that i can stay on version 6.46 as its all i need.

I too, am having issues with being able to sync with 6.6.4. The FITBIT app indicates it has not been syncing since 7/18/19. You may ask, how come I haven't noticed since then????
I switched to a GRAMIN about 9 months ago because of many previous syncing issues!
While I usually wear both, when I "dress up" the ONE is hidden in my bra and unnoticeable.
I've tried to "turn off" the ONE but finding anything slim enough to get in that hole on the back was a challenge. I finally tried a paper staple which I had to "straighten" but even that would not power down the device. I've tried all the other suggestion to no avail. Tonight I'll try syncing from my laptop. If that fails, I have a spare ONE that I'll open up and try. If that fails too, then I'm finished with FITBIT devices.

I've had mine since 2012. I also have a new ONE that has never been opened. I'll try setting up that one tonight. I don't have much hope it not having issues. As newer FITBIT come to market, the older ones are supported less and less in hopes that you'll purchase a new model. I switched to a GARMIN about 9 months ago! So much better!

How about some new firmware?!?!?!
this is RIDICULOUS - you don't have mobiletrack for pixel 3, now in the last 3-5 days this has happened and i have NO STEPS RECORDED. I love the one and hate my blaze. My one is NOT DEFECTIVE, it was working 3-5 days ago

You need to get it on eBay (new) but the prices are shooting up b/c it was a great tracker and they don't make it anymore

'old' meaning the QA team DID NOT take into account the ONE community when they pushed 6.64
I work in this field and for them NOT to support an old model, they have to let the customers know that is going to happen, short of that, they are bound to still support it by the agreement. This is a breach. They need to push out 6.65 IMMEDIATELY so that fitbit one will work again.
I mean IMMEDIATELY

Really angry... just beenona chat with help desk ... my one would not sync or indeed turn on after 6.64 upgrade. Fully charged, but when on charger it shows the logo and full battery icon when pressed. Nothing else. The Helpdesk told me to plug in and after lots of failures, I had to retart by pressing for 12 seconds. This has killed it completely now. Some Helpdesk! No sympathy given... too bad...
Forget Fitbit in future chaps... the 6.64 is sabotaging the one to destruction

Hi, I had success by first making sure the Fitbit Connect application was on the larested version. I was one version behind. After updating that, I plugged my dongle into my laptop and the charging cable, inserted the ONE into the charger. Once inserted I held down the button for 15-20. It took several tries to finally get the ONE to turn off. Once off, I turned it back on and it showed it was updated to the latest version. After all this I was finally able to sync with my home and tablet. I'm still having issues syncing with my laptop. I'm not too concerned as do not use my laptop much. Hope this helps and you find success in syncing.
