I too am so exasperated with Fitbit. They are making Ones obsolecent with an upgrade. It seems immoral to create 6.64  which is destroying all the old Ones, and a lot of more recent Ones as well. Has anyone got a One that has coped with 6.64 without trouble or complete expiry.  I was out of guarentee so offered nothing. I think that Fitbit should be ashamed and  needs to listen to these complaints. I for one am not buying a new Fitbit to reward this incompetence, with a new operating system that could be intentionally crashed in three years. I do not want to think that this was a deliberate move on the company’s part but I am so suspicious nowthat I see how many are complaining that their Ones have been killed off by them. Might get on to Watchdog!

I haven't been on the dashboard for years, so had never seen the update reminder.  i had bad arthritis and i was only doing 3.000 steps - so for me it was just to see if i had improvement. These days i do 10000 daily and have done over 200000 in a day. Just got on a weight losing plan and looked up the data on Fitbit so saw the notice for updates. Thought i should do it but i'm very glad it won't upload as my One still works unlike many on here. Fingers crossed it will live a few more years as i much prefer it to any of the watches

My One crashed on Wed. after updating to 6.64... would not turn on afterwards. No help from the helpdesk! When on charger shows ‘ Fitbit 6.64’ and the full battery icon. Cannot turn on at all when off charger!

Glad you got yours to work! mine still does not. I BRIEFLY saw the word 'steps' when I was removing it from the dongle ONCE. it did sync to my laptop but there is still no info on the ONE and there are no steps in the laptop app

Done the 64 update on iPhone earlier in the week.  Device not now syncing to phone - the app on phone is not finding the device.

The Account page then One page shows the "Sync now" greyed out - not active.

Have turned off and on - " All day Sync" on that page.

Also turned off and on - Bluetooth/ phone/ fitbit app.

Also shut down Fitbit One by putting in charger and holding down button for 10 secs until turned off.

Tried this in relation to Bluetooth off and one, app off and on, syncing off and on. No change.

SOLUTION FOUND

Turned off my iPhone and used my computer to get it synced.

Made sure my wireless sync dongle was still in my computer.

Made sure my fitbit one had enough battery life and was switched on.

Went to Fitbit.com/setup - clicked the pink Download button specific to operating system

It said I already owned the Fitbit app - I clicked Install/open

It downloaded an updated version which I opened.

It then automatically synced with my Fitbit one.

I then opened up my iPhone and it suddenely synced as well.

No data lost.

Sadly, Mine still not switching on... was never a sync problem...just will not turn on when off the charger... after updating to 6.64! Records a full battery, but this seems to be a hashed display. Does this mena the battery has diedin reality?

I don't think all our batteries died en masse

My borked One is the second One I've owned. Because I hate wrist things,

It was new in packaging. Updated to 6.64 and it borked, With its brand new battery. Shows full battery charge and FITBIT 6.64 and will sync with both the iPhone and the Win10 Desktop app. But as soon as it's out f the charger - it's a brick. And yes, I have tried the hold button for 10-12 secs while in the charger then remove from charger and hold button until unit turns on.

It doesn't.

In the absence of a working One, I am using a freakin Flex that I bought a One-like silicon holder for. As I said, I hate wrist things.

This is beyond exasperating. I am having the same issue. I (regretfully) updated the app last night and now my sync is greyed out. I tried rebooting the phone, restarting the app, and turning off bluetooth. When I turn off bluetooth, I am able to click the sync button, but it doesn't actually sync. It just shows my phone tracker steps. When I turn bluetooth back on, it's greyed out and the steps have still not been updated. I am so annoyed that I updated the app. Why oh why was I so stupid. Quit making less popular fitbit versions obsolete, if that's what's happening. I don't want a stupid wrist thing.

That did not work for me. I went through that whole process, with the dongle/fitbit plugged into my PC and when I clicked sync on the computer (phone turned off at this point), it says it doesn't see a dongle, click here to buy. So irritating.

Sorry I'm an amateur. I just tried stuff until it worked for mkne - as posted. I agree about the new ones - dong want a dirty great wrist one - just a nice sleek easily hidden Fifbit. Theresa
