Charge 2 Calendar notifications display current time, not correctevent time

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Charge 2, which I'm using with my Nexus 6 phone running the latest version of Android.

My issue is with the calendar notifications feature. Whenever a notification pops up on my Charge 2, it displays the current time, not the time of the event. So let's say on Google Calendar I have a lunch at noon, and it's set for a reminder 10 minutes before. The reminder notification pops up on my phone and on my Fitbit, but the Fitbit displays "Lunch: 11:50," rather than "Lunch: 12:00." Likewise if I have a reminder notification in Google Calendar for half an hour before, the notification says "Lunch: 11:30."

Anyone else have this issue, or know how to fix it?

It's nice to see you around the Community @dbull058, hope you're doing great! Your tracker will show calendar events and any information sent from your calendar app to your compatible mobile device. Note that if your calendar app does not send notifications to your mobile device, you won’t receive notifications on your tracker.

I also would recommend restarting your Charge 2 by following these instructions.

Hope this helps!

It's nice to see you around the Community @ayush! Hmmm... this is weird let me say. Have you double checked if your mobile device is included in our supported devices? If so, try the following:

  • Make sure that your Fitbit App is up-to-date
  • Log out of your Fitbit App
  • Force quit the App
  • Restart your Charge 2, 3 times in a row
  • Turn off the Bluetooth
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  • Turn on the Bluetooth
  • Log back into your Fitbit App
  • Make sure that "Enable Notification Widget" is turned on. This can be found with other notification settings in the Fitbit Android App.
  • Turn on "Always Connected" in the Fitbit Android App. What this does is improve the Bluetooth connection between your Charge 2 and your mobile device.
  • Verify that you have notifications turned "On" on-device by holding the button on your Charge 2 for two to three seconds when your Charge 2 is displaying its clock face.

Hope to hear good news! Woman Very Happy

Hi ya,

With regards to the calender does it only work if you set calender reminders or can you just view your calender on charge 2 without having reminders set?

Welcome to the forums @Napotter, hope you're doing great! You can use calendar notifications without having reminders to move set. Woman Very Happy

As you  may know, Charge 2 vibrates when a notification is available and you have one minute to read it. If your screen is dimmed, turn your wrist towards you or press the button. Charge 2 doesn't save notifications so check your phone to see those you miss.

Notification tips:

  • A plus sign (+) means you have more than one notification to read.
  • To dismiss a notification, press the button on your tracker.
  • Notifications longer than 40 characters won't appear in full.
  • If you use more than one texting or calendaring app, remember that you'll only see notifications from the app you chose during setup. You're welcome to change apps whenever you like.
  • You can temporarily turn off notifications. From the clock face, just press and hold the button to stop notifications, then repeat when you want to turn them back on.

Hope this helps! Have a great day! Robot Very Happy

Same issue. Every time I get an alert for an upcoming event, it shows the current time instead of when the event starts. At work I have alerts 15 min before meetings. For private events I often set a reminder days before, but Carge 2 don't show when the event actually starts. It has never shown the correct time.

Can this be fixed somehow?

Hi Maria, one question on the + sign for many notifications.  Is there any way to see them all in the Fitbit, or it just says so, and I have to go to the phone to check them?  Thanks in advance. Gabriel

It is now 2018 and I see the same issue. Clearly fitbit has a bug, but I doubt they plan to fix it at this point. Since the Fitbit rep on this thread has not been very clear as to what is going on, I am not holding out for a fix.

Chiming in again. It is now december 2018, and the bug is still present. I have changed phones (more than once) and the notification has never worked.

I love my Fitbit, but the support whenever things is not working (like problems with syncing) has never been good. Nothing but "try restarting" and not really answering or acknowledging the problem. Guess this is my last Fitbit.

I got my Fitbit Alta for Christmas (2018) and I came here looking for answers to this question because it drives me nuts.  I get the notification an hour before each event, which is great, but instead of displaying the time of the event it displays the current time.  It's easy enough to do the math since all my events are set to remind me an hour before but it's still frustrating that it doesn't work correctly.  I'm sad to see it's been a bug for so long and nothing's been done to fix it.

I got tired of waiting for a fix (and a few other bugs as well - like the
randomly bad connection for calls and messages), so I bought the Garmin
Fenix 5 instead. A month in, I have to say it is better in every way. A bit
more bulky of course, but packed with features.

Why do I write this here? Because customer support shouldn't stop when the
customer has paid for the product. I really liked Fitbit, and would've
probably upgraded to Charge 3 if Fitbit would fix simple things like this.
But they don't acknowledge the problem.

Yeah, I am with you, this will be the last fitbit I own, I have had the same issues and it should not be that hard of a fix, at least the time issue.

and this is why I switched to a different fitness tracker, this should be an easy fix, but they don't care. I spoke with reps about it. Also when you do need to get it replaced they will try and send you a different size or color because they are out of stock.
