Charge 3 Silent Alarm stopped working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My alarms were working fine until last week when I had to change them.  They are showing in the app and on my charge 3 correctly but it had stopped vibrating at the set time. In fact nothing changes on the screen at the set time. I've looked at other threads and deleted the new alarms, sync, set new alarms, sync..... But it still won't work.  It had also stopped tracking sleep but the urgent issue is the alarms.  What to do from here?

A warm welcome to the Community @BCkerill.

Thanks for troubleshooting these alarms and sleep issues by yourself. Have you tried to restart your tracker? If you haven't, I recommend restarting it by doing the following:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button to restart your tracker:
    • Press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Let me know the outcome. Smiley Happy

Thank you for your reply. I did everything as you said. My alarm worked on Wednesday last week so I thought it was fixed. But this week nothing. No alarm on Monday or Wednesday(this morning).

What do I do now?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi - same issue with alarm not consistently working on my FitBit3.  After I do a reset it seems to work for a bit, but I shouldn't have to reset every week.

Suggestions to resolve this?

Thanks!

I have the same issue.

Followed the instructions and it worked for a week but now it stopped working.

Is there a solution for this? Or is it s hardware problem? I ask this since some users seem to not have this oroblem

I am having the same problems as well as sync issues. Sometimes my app won't sync for a whole week until I restart my phone and wait about 5 minutes. I don't have time for this. Also I use the alarm to wake me up in the morning and it hasn't been going off. I have been lucky that my cat has been waking me up.

My other alarms seem to go off at random. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Usually the most important one (the morning one) have the biggest issue. Please help.

Hi,

Did anybody get a solution to this? as my Charge 3 has been doing this for the last week or so.

I have tried all the suggestions.....

I am also having this problem.  The alarm was one of the main reasons I got a fitbit.  Not being able to rely on it and no sign of a fix in the works is very disheartening.  I really hope it's not time to consider an apple watch......

Same problem for me. If I have my alarm on weekdays it doesn’t seem to work, but it does work if I set an ad-hoc alarm and so seems a weird software issue. No idea why it would randomly start with no changes though?

Fitbit- any ideas?

Has there been any updates?  I am restarting mine weekly and it works for a day or 2 then the silent alarms quit all together.

Same issue here and it's been going on for a while. I either reboot the FitBit or turn the alarms off and back on to get them working for a few days. Then I do it all over again.

I’m having the same problem with my Fitbit Charge 3 - alarm goes off some mornings but not others.  Hoping we are all provided with a solution soon!

Hi

This issue can be sorted

1) logon to the FitBit web portal and remove all your alarms

2) plug your Fitbit watch into charger and hold todo the reset / reboot

3) then logon to web portal and set your alarms again

4) then sync via app

This resolved for me

I just bought my charge 3 especially for the silent alarm and I am having the same issue with the alarm not working. I have tried everything listed in this thread including completely removing the watch from the app and my phone blue tooth, rebooting the watch completely by holding the side button until the line ran across the screen. Opened the web app, deleted all alarms and setting up the watch from scratch. The alarm worked one day and then stopped.  I wish I had looked at the thread before I purchased the charge 3. I had a 30 dollar activity band that had all features of charge 3 and not once had alarm issues.  The ONLY reason I chose to spend over 100 dollars for the charge 3 is the 30 dollar watch died when I left it on charge connection. SO I thought I was getting a better quality band with fitbit.

Please advise what to do.

Laura

Hi Laura,

I don't know why the silent alarm is an issue with the Charge 3.   Mine will work for weeks and then stop working.  I always have a backup alarm just in case (which is unfortunate).

This is what I do and it seems to resolve the issue.

- Turn off the silent alarm and sync the watch.

- Put the watch on the charger and turn off - restart

- Turn on the silent alarm and sync the watch.

Poof - it works for me. 🙂

I hope it works for you.  Have a great one.

Agreed.  This is what works for me.  I don't have to log into the web portal app.  Just from my phone.

Have a great one!

I find that if I set the alarm to "not go off" for a day or two, then set it to go back on it stops working. I have to delete my alarms and add them again to start.

What I mean is that I have an alarm set for Mon-Fri at 5:20AM to wake up for work. But if on Friday I do not have to go into work I will go on my phone app, I press the green sliding bar to the left of the time so it turns off (still there just not on), sync the Charge 3 to my app and go about my day. Then on Friday it does not go off (as planned). But then when I tap the green slide bar again (on my phone app) to activate the alarm, then sync it to wake me on Monday it does not go off. I will even look at the Charge 3 and it shows the alarm is active, but it does not work.

I have to delete the alarm and create a new one to get it working again.

Definitely an issue they will want to fix, that is NOT how it should work.

I too am having the same issue with my Charge 3, and it's only been happening for the last month. I use the silent alarm as my "alarm clock", and some days it actually goes off and others it doesn't. It's completely random. It worked for me fine Friday morning and Saturday morning. I plugged it in overnight on Saturday, wore it Sunday and this morning (Monday) it didn't go off. Super frustrating!

Fitbit, are you getting closer to figuring out this issue? What other information can the user community provide you to assist in the diagnosis and resolution of the issue?

Help, please - before I'm late for work again! 😞

This is ridiculous!  My first Charge 3 was randomly "forgetting" to wake me in the morning.  Then grey lines appeared on the screen which would not go away.  I called tech support who could not resolve the grey lines issue and so a new Charge 3 was sent to me.  All was well until a few days ago when the alarms failing to go off started again.  Fitbit when are you going to fix this problem for people.  I am going out to buy an alarm clock and doubt if I will ever buy another fitbit product!
