Charge 3 display corrupted

My Charge 3, which is about 6 weeks old has developed a dead horizontal line about 1/5 of the way down the screen. It's like a dead pixel, but extends right across the screen and always remains black. It's not too much of a problem; info is still easy to read, but it's clearly a fault and may get worse. I intend to return it for an exchange, but am posting to let other users know about this issue.

Be sure to ask for a replacement long before the warranty ends. Ask for new not refurbished unit if offered.

Good luck!

CS will have you try an extended restart. If that doesn't work, then they
will offer a replacement if you are in warranty, or perhaps a discount on
another Fitbit if you are out of warranty.

Mine is also showing the light lines through it and ive already reset it multiple times. How do i fix it? It also happened when the battery got really low

Mine wasn't dependent on the battery level, but once it goes, I haven't
heard of anyone being able to fix it. CS will ask you to try an extended
restart. If it is in warranty they will offer a replacement, usually a
refurbished one. If you are out of warranty they may offer a discount on a
new one. Good luck.

I had this same issued. I had purchased my Charge 3 in September. I ignored my initial horizontal deadline and then also the subsequent ones. I would say about a third of the lines are now dead on it.  Today, the screen that is not deadlines is now grayscale. Any advice? I'm not a swimmer and my fitbit has never been excessively wet. This is less than a year old. My prior fitbit lasted years.

You will have to contact customer service. They will have you try an
extended start. When that doesn't work, they may replace with a new one,
but more likely a refurbished unit.

Your option is to contact customer service. They will have you try an
extended restart. If your unit is under warranty they should replace it,
although it may be with a refurbished one. Mine was out of warranty, so I
was offered a discount on a new unit. Mine lasted just over a year. Good
luck

Check that the brightness isn’t set too low. Mine jumped to auto after a hard reset and the display couldn’t be seen.

There are two settings- I always found to auto was too dim even in a darker room.

I’ve had my Fitbit since January and don’t swim I’ve tried the reset option but I still have multiple lines across my display

Best Answer
They have a serious issue with display component quality. There is no fix for the line issue, only replacement.

Since you are still under warranty they should replace at no charge. Ask for a NEW device not an exchange. You will likely get a refurbished unit in exchange.

I’ve heard from about 100 others who have had the same experience. They have also heard of more cases according to comments.

Get this into their complaints department as soon as possible. I was too late and was only offered 30% off a new one.

Best regards,

Ted
