Charge 3 display corrupted

My Charge 3, which is about 6 weeks old has developed a dead horizontal line about 1/5 of the way down the screen. It's like a dead pixel, but extends right across the screen and always remains black. It's not too much of a problem; info is still easy to read, but it's clearly a fault and may get worse. I intend to return it for an exchange, but am posting to let other users know about this issue.

I moved from charge to inspire, and so far so good. Wouldn't trust another
charge. There are too many complaints listed

I am having a similar problem, but mine has progressed from one line to multiple lines in the last month

Sorry to say, it's toast. I haven't seen anyone post that they were able to
get rid of the lines. Hopefully you can get a replacement. Good luck.

Wanted to come back and say that technical support had me attempt restarting it again which didn't work and so they sent me a new one since I was still under warranty.

I am not award of anyone who has been able to get rid of the lines once they start. I'm glad you got a replacement. I hope they fixed the problem with the charge 4. Good luck with your we one.

My Charge 3 has the same problem - a row of pixels that are not lighting up.  I bought the FitBit in September 2019.  I tried to restart it.  No luck.  How do I go about having in replaced?  Thanks!

You will have to contact customer service. It is new enough that you should
ask to have it replaced with a new one. Otherwise it may be replaced with a
refurbished one. Good luck

Restart does not fix it.

I haven't seen it fix anyone's. You'll have to call Customer service for a
remedy. If it's under warranty they should replace it. If not you may get a
discount on a new one. Good luck

Well that’s sad. My employers fitness committee gave me this one. I
replaced the lousy original band for $28 bucks. Now I gotta buy a new watch
too.
To be fair, who builds one of these devices that is really meant to be worn
in an industrial setting? I am a service tech on transit buses.

My son-in-law does custodial at a manufacturing plant, so I get it. Have
your company go to Fitbit and complain. Maybe they will have some luck. It
is a common problem with the 3's. Hope they fixed it on the 4. Good luck.

I feel your pain. My band broke after a year but since the device was already defective I chose not to replace the band.

The device design or quality isn’t up to expectations and there is little chance of satisfaction or replacement.

Best regards,

Ted

Sorry. I replaced mine with an inspire(wasn't willing to make the
investment). If this goes bad, I am done with Fitbit

This is definitely an ongoing flaw with this model that I hear had always had a problematic release. A year and a half after all of you have had this issue, it’s still happening. The reset doesn’t help. My dead pixels escalated very quickly and now my screen has failed entirely. I can’t reset it at all now. It still functions and records data, but I have no display at all.

Do you know how long the warranty is? I’m having difficulty finding my documentation.

I know. It's frustrating to see so many others have similar problems, and
the company didn't seem interested in fixing it. Hopefully the 4 is better.
