Charge 3 display corrupted

My Charge 3, which is about 6 weeks old has developed a dead horizontal line about 1/5 of the way down the screen. It's like a dead pixel, but extends right across the screen and always remains black. It's not too much of a problem; info is still easy to read, but it's clearly a fault and may get worse. I intend to return it for an exchange, but am posting to let other users know about this issue.

It has happened to enough people that I doubt it's an issue with an update.
You will have to contact customer service to see what they will do. Good
luck.

Hi AlejandraFitbit

My Charge 3 display is now corrupted like the photo...I have reset the Charge 3 as you suggested, but unfortunately the line is still there. The device is under a year old and has been used lightly. Please let me know if there are other alternatives to a fix or a replacement. Thank you.

Go here:  https://myhelp.fitbit.com/s/products?language=en_US&p=charge_3  and click on Get Support.  Since your device is under a year old, it should still be under warranty.   I found them to be very helpful.  They said they'd replace mine since it was still under warranty.  (Haven't received the replacement yet but I've gotten email indicating it's on the way).

You will have to contact customer service. If it is still under warranty,
they should be able to help you. Good luck

Hi I appreciate this topic is a couple of years out of date, but I have the same problem. I have several lines on my charge 3. Otherwise working ok.
Can you advise what I should do?

If under warranty immediately ask for a replacement

Unfortunately, it's not out of date. It's still a fairly common issue with
the charge 3. Your option is to contact customer service. If it is in
warranty they will replace it with a different unit. Whether new or
refurbished may depend on how far into warranty it is. Otherwise, they may
offer a discount on a different unit and try to upsell. I wish you good
luck.

Thank you. Just over a year old now, but I’ll see what I’m offered.

Thank you. Sadly just over a year old.

Talk to them anyway. I was given a discount, but I went down to inspire and
ended up paying very little for it.

Help!!!

20201017_235540.jpgHello! Hope you're keeping safe and well. This week my Charge 3 has started showing black lines across the display which is making it tricky to read. I have tried the long and short resets and changed the clock face and the picture shows there's no improvement. Can anyone help as I love my 5th Fitbit, but this is becoming unusable?

Best Answer
It still stores your information in the app. It will just be difficult to
read. If that doesn't matter then you can keep using it. I would still
recommend contacting customer service about a better remedy.

It will just keep getting worse until you can't see anything at all other than in the app. Its happened to me 5 times. Its a known problem with the charge 3. Call customer service. Hope you got the insurance too. I got another new one in march and the lines started about a month later. I'm going to be calling again myself soon and I'm not getting another charge 3.

  • Hi I also have a problem with my screen but it is vertical lines, I’ve tried restarting but it I did not fix the problem

Contacting customer service is the option left to you. Depending on whether
you are in warranty or not will determine what kind of relief you get from
them. Good luck.

I had the same problem. They replaced the first one and within weeks, same thing happened. Now I’m debating another Fitbit, or another activity tracker. I’m not a swimmer, but my unit did get exposed to light rain and high humidity, but I had fewer issues with not water rated Alta HR than Charge 3.

did you ever get your Fitbit fixed or did you have to replace it as I have the same problem
