Bought my Fitbit Charge 3 on Saturday. Tracked my sleep first night, hasn’t since for last 3 nights. Have to keep putting it on charger and restarting. Few hours later it appears on watch and phone. Can’t keep doing this! Any ideas?

Hi, I have the same problem. It tracked my sleep OK on the first night but I’ve only had limited data since. I’ve tried wearing it tighter, looser, resetting but nothing seems to work?

I’ve given up now and will be returning it. I’m sick of troubleshooting practically every day. Will buy another when problems are sorted.

My guess is that this is a software issue.... hopfully the Fitbit "Hackers" are working on a solution...but if it is a hardware problem they are up in Sh*tcreek without a paddle..

Which is all very well as long as you can get the thing to sync! I’ve given up now, it’s ridiculous that you have to troubleshoot on a daily basis. Mine worked fine for a few days and a couple of months later there seems to be more problems.

Hi. What’s a long reset? Is that different to a normal reset? Many thanks. David

The long restart:

1) Plug the Charge 3 into the charging cable

2) While the Charge 3 is plugged in, hold the left "button" down for 15 seconds

3) Remove your finger from button - note: device won't have a smiley face icon and should display a horizontal white line or be off with a black screen

4) Remove the Charge 3 from the charging cable

5) Plug the Charge 3 into the charging cable again

6) The smiley face should appear on the screen

OK FitBit, it’s time to improve the C3 sleep stages algorithm or data collection.  For 3 of the last 4 nights my C3 has failed to record sleep stages.  I was a passionate supporter of the C3 upgrade but no longer.  Too many bugs have yet to be worked out. I have reset app/phone/C3 to no avail,  this indiscriminate recording is aggravating now.

I've had the charge 3 for a couple of weeks. It was tracking sleep until last night. The other problem is, I noticed if your pulse gets low say around 55 to 60 the charge 3 assumes you are sleeping so the sleep that it did track included a lot of resting.

Glad to find the right forum. I too had to go to dashboard to manually update sleep. This is the first time in just over two weeks of use. I also had to adjust the wake time from 6 am to 7 am to get full read. Again, it has always just been very automatic. Is it/should it be necessary to set sleep/wake parameters in advance? That doesn't seem to make sense.

Agreed- I think this ‘upgrade‘ to the C3 may see me and FitBit part ways

Glendalepaul you are wasting your time. It’s not the algorithm, me and my wife got charge 3 at the same time, hers tracks sleep perfectly, mine not at all or a few hours each night, there is a faulty batch and this company is not man enough to accept that. I’ve been dealing with Tech support for 2 weeks now, no better than this forum. Reset this change that, and after all that my Fitbit now preforms worse than it did! The latest is I have to wait 24-48 hours because my problems have been escalated to a higher level. What a crock of **ahem**, this company needs to learn the basics of customer service. Check this reply from https://community.fitbit.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/4881221 lanuzafitbit who said sleep might not be tracked if you had a window open, a fan on, your heart rate was to high or to low, WTF don’t remember reading any of this in the small print before I purchased ours. Also been told it’s acceptable to record flights climbed while driving because that’s how Fitbit works, well there’s no point having this part of the app because it’s a complete waste of time then. Don’t know about anyone else but im not interest how many flights I’ve climeduwhen I’m driving up a hill. Is it really possible in 2019 for a company to mis sell a product with so many flaws and get away with it? I hope not.

My fitbit seems to choose when it wants to log my sleep.  Most days it does, than suddenly it does not.  And many times it gets the time I fall asleep totally wrong!  Last week it had me falling asleep at 11:30pm when I went to bed at 8:30pm.

And syncing is a big issue. Sigh.  Never had these issues with the original fitbit.  This newer version is a pita.

I was happy that it worked after a Long Reset, i got sleep data for 2 days and now it is back to normal witch means NO sleep data at all !!!   this is a pice of very BAD product quality control. is there anyone at Fitbit that reads this forum??

Not sure why we need to pay for this nonworking product....

And I'll join up with the same problem. Really thinking of returning the product. Step count is terrible, HR is bearable and the sleep tracking just does not work.. Sad and disappointing!
