I've had my Charge 3 a little over a month. Last night my screen went blank. It was at 100% battery. It is still syncing with the app so I can see that it is still tracking my steps and sleep, etc. When I tried to restart it by placing it on the charger and holding down the side button for 8 secs. When I hold the button down it does a very quick pulse vibe about 4 times and then nothing. I've tried holding it longer than 8 secs also and still nothing. Very frustrated to be having this issue with a brand new product. Contemplating returning the one I bought my husband for Christmas and returning mine as well if not resolved immediately.

I have done these steps, get the smiley face, the battery shows it is starting to charge, but when I come back after about an hour or two it hasn’t charged and it’s back to a blank screen. This didn’t work for me.

My Charge 3 has done exact same thing today too. Very odd. Still syncing but no screen at all.
Followed this guys advice and it is back working. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
Got to be a system issue if so many have had the exact same fault on same day? No?

My charge 3 screen appeared scrambled so, after reading these forums, I plugged it into the charger and sought to restart. The screen then went black. After trying multiple times to restart (plugging into charger, holding button for 15 seconds, taking off charger, plugging back in), the screen remains blank although the device vibrates still and the app says its charged etc. I also tried to change clock faces a few times - the app says 'unable to connect to charge 3. error connecting with charge 3. please make sure your fitbit is nearby and switched on'. Any ideas what I should try next?
Thanks!!

That's exactly my issue although I don't get any vibration. Does Fitbit actually read these forums and come to the party? I don't think so.

My fit bit went dead Sunday... no problem at all, took it off to wash dishes, then blank, dead, gone... I had noticed before it wasn’t vibrating for texts. Nothing I do resets it. I found it very interesting that the new fit bit came out on Monday, and I feel this is like another poor Apple update to get you to buy more. Unfortunately I need mine for the heart rate to keep track of issues I am having with my heart rate. Not syncing or anything, now it says it’s not connected, but can’t reconnect due to blank screen

I feel for you. Fitbit don't seem to be interested in addressing the issue which is quite prevalent with this unit. This thread has been getting quite long so let's hope Fitbit take some appropriate action for affected owners.

Ran into the same problem about half a year after getting my Charge 3. Fitbit couldn't fix it over chat so they offered to warranty it and sent a return label. But - then it started working so I didn't send it back. Now a year later it's doing it again but won't reset and they won't honor the original warranty claim (they told me that wasn't a claim but an "interaction" - whatever). But - hey - they did offer me a discount on buying another one of these pieces of crap so I got that going for me. They also said only a very small amount of these had this problem so they aren't concerned about it. Total junk watch - I have a cheap knockoff from Amazon that I bought for $20 five years ago that still works (and the band lasted longer on it too). Fitbits app might be prettier than the cheapie Amazon knockoff's app but honestly I don't see the extra value for get a Fitbit - certainly nothing worth the extra $100 especially given their lack of reliability. So - anyone reading this thinking of buying a Fitbit - don't - not worth it - total cheap rip-off crap.

Tried this yesterday and it worked. Face went dark again this morning with exception of lighted pixels straight down center of face. Rebooted again with charger, taking off and then back on charger and still no face. It vibrates, seems to be tracking but can't see anything! Seems like this is a problem with many, many folks!

My screen was blank but charged and responsive according to my app. I did the steps and my screen started responding but it is lined and not clear.

I had that problem weeks ago and now it's gotten to point that I can't get the face to show at all now, even after trying to use the Fitbit recommended troubleshooting steps. Wish they'd see these concerns and have someone from their technical dept answer what recourse I have. I guess I'll have to sit on the phone and try to talk to someone.

This did not work for me! Not only is the screen blank now...before this, it would not hold a charge for more than a few hours. I've had so many problems with this Charge 3.

You're right, it shouldn't happen. I've had many problems with why Charge 3. It's a software issue, which needs to be fixed!
