I've had my Charge 3 a little over a month. Last night my screen went blank. It was at 100% battery. It is still syncing with the app so I can see that it is still tracking my steps and sleep, etc. When I tried to restart it by placing it on the charger and holding down the side button for 8 secs. When I hold the button down it does a very quick pulse vibe about 4 times and then nothing. I've tried holding it longer than 8 secs also and still nothing. Very frustrated to be having this issue with a brand new product. Contemplating returning the one I bought my husband for Christmas and returning mine as well if not resolved immediately.

Hi,
I am having the same issue with a 1 year old fitbit. The charge 3 is still communicating with my phone, but despite multiple resets as instructed, the screen will flicker and then go black. Any help would be great!

Since I bought mine less than a year ago at Costco I'm going to return it there and see if I can get something else. The only thing is I still want a fitbit because my family is connected there and we do challenges through the app. That's how they get you stuck on their brand.

I've tried this tip more than 5 times and still nothing on the screen. It's syncing to my phone and does buzz, just can't see anything. Very frustrated!

I am having the same issue!!! I am so frustrated by this. It is now a completely black screen.

I got my FitBit in September 2019, after having another brand fitness tracker for over a year, and really liked it! However, it's been acting up for the past few weeks. I first noticed that it had line breaks in the screen when I tried to record a walk. I followed the reset instructions I read on the forum and it continued to work, although the blank lines didn't go away. The sleep tracking had also started to act up and not properly track my sleep.
This morning, I woke up and my display has stopped working completely. When I first plugged it, the watch vibrated to indicate it was charging and still synced to my phone. Only an hour later, it won't vibrate when it's plugged in, the screen is still blank, and it no longer syncs to my phone/app. I do like the watch and the FitBit program, but I'm not happy with all of the issues I've had lately.

Spoke to customer service and they determined my Charge 3 is defective. Thankfully, it's within the warranty, so they are going to replace it!

This is exactly what happened. It feels like an update gone bad to worse. Wish they'd fix this problem, lots of people are having it.

I tried resetting the device per the instructions, and my screen is still black. I have had the issue in the past and the reset worked, but not this time. It is still logging my information,

Sadly mine never recovered. It will not turn on and not charge. No one from fitbit has attempted to contact me either. I wasted money buying new chargers because I thought that was the issue but it was not so if you are having this issue, it is not the charger it is the device itself.

I called, twittered, and chatted with my FitBit charge 3 after 15 months of use. The final answer is to get 25% discount for a new FitBit but the discount does not apply to Charge 4. The discount is more that what is on sale for Charge 3. I am not sure about what to do. I like FitBit since I don’t have to charge it frequently. My family uses FitBit. It looks like I am stuck getting a new FitBit. Ugh....I would like to get Charge 4 but the discount does not apply.

I have the same problem with a blank screen it's still syncing to my Android, my Fitbit charge 3 is about a year and 3 months old oh, I've tried all of your suggestions with getting the screen to come back up again I've gone on YouTube I've tried everything any suggestions

Hi Team, I have just tried this and it hasn't worked for me.
My fitbit charge 3 has been problematic for the past I week. The battery died within 24 hours so now all the notifications and screen wake are off. I just fully charged it and took it off the charger and the smiley face refused to go off. When I tried to restart I got a black face but was still working. I have tried the best answer but the device is refusing to work.
This was a replacement received few months ago but its a really terrible one.
Please help!

Yes, same for me. My screen is dead and none of these solutions have worked. Fitbit offered me a 20% discount on buying a new device but didn't even offer to replace it, as if I'd ever purchase one again when they break for no reason. Ha!

I have tried holding in the button for 15 seconds while my Fitbit is charging and taking it off than on charge to hopefully get the smiley face and it to work. This didn’t work however and my screen is still black. Any other suggestions?

Having the same issue. My current fitbit is a replacement I received June of 2019 due to line lines through the screen issue they were having. They replaced my o,d fitbit with a new one and I, mistakenly, thought this one would be covered for a year. Went through all the reset steps with support and am still waiting to hear back fr5them since last Thursday after I provided all the info requested. Two issues within 1 year and 4 months does not make the company look good.....on top of giving me the runaround. Hubbies isn't having any issues and we bought the originals at the same time. Not happy about this money going down the drain.
