Charge 3 screen went blank

I've had my Charge 3 a little over a month. Last night my screen went blank. It was at 100% battery. It is still syncing with the app so I can see that it is still tracking my steps and sleep, etc. When I tried to restart it by placing it on the charger and holding down the side button for 8 secs. When I hold the button down it does a very quick pulse vibe about 4 times and then nothing. I've tried holding it longer than 8 secs also and still nothing. Very frustrated to be having this issue with a brand new product. Contemplating returning the one I bought my husband for Christmas and returning mine as well if not resolved immediately.

Mine too. I charge it now and then but the screen is entirely black. My
second Charge 3 that this has happened to.

It was already out of warranty.🙁

They could not solve the problem. They offered me $49.00 towards a new Fitbit

Thanks for your response.  My Charge 2 did the same things as the Charge 3.  Really is upsetting, because it's such a great concept...when it works!  No more FitBit for me.  Will try an Apple watch.

Having a very similar issue as described below: started seeing a thin horizontal line on my device last night - charged it overnight to 100% - working fine this morning but then only saw a large vertical white line, in turn screen has gone black. Tracker is counting steps and syncing with my phone though... Last app update done yesterday - have tried all restart instructions already described in the related posts. Had similar issues about a year ago... with a Charge 3 indeed: Replaced then and a very active user, but hope this is not again required after less than a year.

My Charge 3 screen just suddenly went black and I cannot see anything anymore. I tried all the restart/reboot steps but nothing worked. I even tried to change the clock face but it still did not work. Now my fitbit stopped charging as well. I already cleaned the pins and the back panel of the watch, and changed the USB port/hub but it still won't charge. So altogether, this watch has suddenly became useless. Anyone else who can help me with this?

I have a similar problem. My Fitbit Charge 3's screen is black and I cannot use the touchscreen. It does still tracks steps, calories, etc. but I have tried everything so far to fix the problem and still cannot. I have tried multiple times to restart the device, with no result. I'm not sure if you are supposed to feel a number of vibrations while restarting the device, but I only feel about one. I have held the button on the device (while the device is on the charger) for 8 seconds and then increased the time to 15 seconds and still have not been able to restart. I have also tried to change the clock face of my device, but every time I try, my phone gets stuck loading the new clock face. I have tried changing the clock face to every clock face available, but all my phone does is load, for hours on end. It's been almost a week since the screen on my Fitbit went dark. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

My screen is still black even after the steps to reboot. The smiley face comes up but the screen is still black . Is there another suggestion to try to repair ?

I did the same and the smiley and usual display came on for a second but went black again. Do advise what to do!

I got a replacement through Fitbit. I called customer service

You're sooooooo lucky.  There are thousands of us who got nothing after reporting this issue to fit bit.  yours must have been brand new

I would call customer service like this other person did and let them know that yours is defective and you'd like a replacement.  If they give you a hard time let them know that you've tried everything under the sun and you want it replaced or your money back because it is under WARRANTY.  You have a right to a replacement under their warranty policy!
I fooled around with fit bit til my warranty ran out and then they said they would give me 30% discount on my next fit bit. Really, i'm not giving them anymore of my money.

This has happened to both my charge2 and Charge 3.  FitBit needs get their act together and help all of us out who are having this very same problem.   My advice to you is...don't buy another FitBit, I know I'm not!

Hi Thank You for getting back to me .. I’ll try calling Customer Service but the only time I’ve ever gotten a replacement FitBit was if my purchase was within 1 year of my original purchase. I would of had this FitBit 3 for two years in Sept. Just really disappointing they don’t stand behind their products better - especially when they know there is a glitch with the watch. Hesitating buying a new one - thinking of going over to an Apple Watch now.

My Fitbit Charge 3 is one year old. Few time is has gone blank  and then restarted again by itself. This time it is few days looks completely dead, but it is not....

i have done the suggested phases: i initially got the smiley face, then nothing. after trying and trying again i get a long vibration, 4 pulses, and now a faded away smiley face.... still nothing... is there a service center in Johannesburg, South Africa Where i can bring it?

i find this way of selling you a tech gudget very unfriendly.... the wrist ban broke twice in a year for the bad quality of the rubber, i got a  fungus on my skin, i had to buy replacement wrist  strap from ebay in china, took several weeks, then broke again and order it from takealot ... metal one ( nice produced in Italy) ... now the fitbit broke? Died? Blanked? 
what kind of service is this.... almost a scam

The only good news I can give you is, if your Fitbit 3 is under 1 yr old, call the customer service and once they walk you through several steps and it still doesn’t work , they should replace your Fitbit 3 for free. Good Luck !!!
