I find the Charge 2 had a darker screen, the 3 I can barely read it, in fact never try, just grab my phone to read the time and steps

@Vette4ever It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

Let me help you with your Charge 3 screen. Thank for the feedback. Have you tried adjusting its brightness level? Swipe the screen to the left until you reach the settings option, tap it and then tap on Brightness to scroll through the different options.

Let me know how it goes.

I have check the brightness as per instructions but I can hardly read the date and steps on my Fitbit time is okay to read any suggestions please

Best Answer
I was able to increase the brightness via the settings on my Charge3.
Wish there was a way to increase the font on the other info - steps, etc.
Don't always have "readers" handy. Most often have to use my phone app for
details.
Thanks,

Thank you, this is a change they need to address.
Adjust brightness on the app.

Mine is unreadable. Can’t read it to see settings has to increase brightness.
Hopefully they will fix this big flaw on any new fitbits.

I have had my charge 3 for approx 7 months screen brightness has been perfect until this latest update. I applied this on July 22 , is anyone else seeing this time frame as the issue.

Best Answer
Call where you bought it, it may still be under store warranty and get it exchanged.
I did that and the screen is really bright.

Mine went dim with the update.

When accessing/changing the settings on your charge3, being in a dark or dim room helps.

Thank you, unfortunately I'm in FL and outside a lot, so finding a dark place isn't really convenient. I'm hoping if enough people have the same issues with the update Fitbit will correct

  • If your charge 3 is too dim, it doesn't have to be this way..  mine was usually way too dim for me to see in sunlight or even in a lit room.   I usually had to blindly guess my way through the buttons in order to track a workout class!  My replacement watch (shown with blue band) came in and I thought I'd post the differences with the optional lighting settings all taken in a fairly dark room:. 1st pic is "auto", 2nd is "dim" (and yes, it's on!!), 3rd is "normal"

My concern is how long with the replacement last?  Like you we paid a lot of money for this device and I surely expected more than 6 months from it. My replacement came in late July so hope it lasts way after Christmas. I really like this device and want to keep it for a while.

I like mine, too, so I'm crossing my fingers it'll last a long time!!

Fitbit is refusing to honor Warrantys with a "We're working on it" response. Only true  resolved ones are earlier complaints were the pebble was replaced. But for several months now it appears from forum that Fitbit is refusing to honor with their "working on it" replies!

It wod be extremely helpful if you posted How you increased the brightness!

Same thing for me! Fitbit refuses to honor Warranty by using the same "We're working on it" replay which they've been using for several months now.

Apparently I was one of the lucky ones, Fitbit replaced mine with a new one. That's how I increased the brightness. I hope they come around and honor your warranty
