So I am trying to upgrade the look of a fitbit to blend in with my wardrobe more but the replacement bands have magnets and I am wondering if they will interfere with the fitbit technology?? Has anyone heard of anything or had good/bad experiences with magnets near their fitbit?
I included a link to the fitbit band I'm looking at if that helps! Thanks to anyone who has helpful info!

Press left button 2 seconds and "Screen Wake" appears. Then select auto or manual. I think that happened when I was putting my new band on. It went to manual.

@Rosebud69 @kitcab @Tejana I hope you're doing well!
@Rosebud69 happy to hear that the Quick View settings help you solve the issue.
@Tejana sorry to hear that your Charge 2 isn't working at all. Try cleaning the contacts using cotton with rubbing alcohol then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's usb port (try different ports) or use an UL listed usb wall adapter. After this, restart your device and see how it behaves.
@kitcab in the case of @Rosebud69 it wasn't the band but was the Quick View settings. Still happy to hear that your Charge 2 is working fine with the original bands.
@Rich_Laue thank you for your help here.
Let me know how it goes!

It doesn't interfere with the fitbit that I found but it does interfere with a laptop. If you have a magnet in your fitbit band and reach up close to the screen of a laptop it triggers the magnet in the laptop to think the screen has closed and puts the computer to sleep. Very Annoying, on my laptop the delete and backspace are close to the screen so everytime I hit those two keys my computer goes to sleep.

That's odd, but it makes sense. If you're on Windows, you can go into the power options and change what happens when the lid closes (I have mine set to do nothing).

I'm still using a magnetic band even though it's a little short and hard to slip over my hand. It's still more convenient than the plastic ones. I do get a little tired of it attaching itself to all things iron. But that's what magnets do. I'm still being careful when placing the Versa into the charging doc so I don't reset the view option to manual. Other than that, the Versa is really nice with all the things it can do.

Hi. I had a very similar band to this on my Alta HR. I fell in love with both the band and my Fitbit, but unfortunately my Fitbit completely died about 14 months after getting it. Of course my one year warranty was up, so Fitbit gave me a deal if I ordered another one. This time I ordered the Charge 3 (which I absolutely love). I immediately ordered the same band to fit my Charge 3...since the Fitbit is bigger, the magnet was bigger and the band actually worked even better. Guess what...8 months in, Fitbit is dead. This time I got a free replacement because it was still under warranty, but I’m scratching my head wondering if the magnet has had anything to with my dead Fitbits, which is why I am on this forum. Not going to put a magnet on my new Fitbit. I’d love to know if anyone else has experienced anything similar. I really do like the magnetic bands.

In response to my reccomendation I know many that have the magnetic clasp on their Fitbit band. Not one has mention any issues with any stat reporting related to the magnet.
Fitbit basically uses accelerometers to determine what the arm is doing and these look at changes in ot magnmotion and not magnetic fields.

I have had no problem. Been using one with my Versa for months now.

I purchased the Yutior Metal Band (with magnetic clasp) from Amazon for my Blaze. After putting the tracker into the new band, the battery was drained within 4 hours (it was fully charged). When I got home I put the tracker into the charger and it seemed to be dead--no reaction at all. 3 days later I put the tracker into the charger again and it has "revived" and is charging again. I have yet to know if there is any damage to it. The tracker never behaved like this before putting it into the metal band with magnetic clasp so I can only assume something in the band is causing the tracker to misbehave. I will be sending back the metal band (even though I love it) as I do not want to risk ruining my Fitbit tracker (I hope it is okay!).
