FitBit Charge 2 Has Poor Design!

I had the FitBit Charge 2 for about 10 months. After about three months, the connector of the strap to the pebble would no longer stay connected. I called FitBit and they replaced the strap as it was under warranty. About three months later, the same thing happened and the connector of strap number 2 would no longer connect. I called FitBit to report the issue and they replaced the strap with Strap Number 3. About two months later, for no reason whatsoever, the actual pebble had a severe crack on the screen. I did not bang it on anything; the crack simply appeared. I called FitBit and they replaced the pebble. In good faith, I believed that I had just gotten a bad set of straps so I continued to wear Pebble Number 2 with Strap Number 3 until last Sunday. I was out sailing and it seems like the strap simply disconnected from the pebble. I heard something hit the deck and when I looked at my wrist, my FitBit was gone. I can only surmise that my FitBit fell into the water. I called FitBit today to see what they would do about this and they said that I should have known better that Strap Number 3 was going to give way. Excuse me! FitBit should simply NOT sell any faulty products! They are not in any way going to compensate me for a product with a faulty design. BEWARE everyone: DO NOT purchase the FitBit Charge 2! The screen on the pebble cracks and the strap is unable to stay connected to the pebble for more than three months. It was a complete waste of over $120.

@DeerAteMyTulips A warm welcome to our Community!

Thank you for sharing your experience. Support does follow the guidelines listed in the warranty so if your device is outside the warranty scope they won't be able to replace it. Still thank you for sharing your feedback.

I'll be around.

Can you quote exactly which portion of the warranty does this incident fall under?

Can you tell me exactly section of the guidelines in the warranty does this situation fall under? There is no where in there that says that I was not supposed to use the FitBit while on a boat. If the strap had broken while I was at home, of course I would have found it and I would have been able to locate it. But since the device fell overboard due to a faulty design of the strap which is obviously not due to anything I had done, I see no reason why this is my fault. You should stand up to your products. I purchased this device less that a year ago and it is still under warranty as far as I am concerned.
