I agree design flaws should be covered, When automobiles have a design flaw the get recalled /repaired I guess we are going to have to use our voting powers and get people into office to hold these companies responsible.

My screen is burnt out too. I can’t put in my 4 digest code because the screen is black. It’s less than a year old. This is really depressing and disappointing. ☹️

If it is less than a year old, they should replace it under warranty. Get with them now before your warranty expires.

I also have a diagonal vertical crack on the face of my Charge 2. I have been living with it for a while now and I finally googled about repairing it. I was dismayed to find this thread and learn that this is such a systemic issue. I am sure that I am well out of the warranty period, especially as I have been living with the crack for a while now.
Shame on Fitbit for being aware of the situation and not offering a repair solution to this obviously flawed screen design.
I am especially disappointed as I am a Fitbit fan and have other apps synced to it. I may have to rethink my stance on Fitbit and consider other fitness trackers.

If your Fitbit was still in warranty they should have replaced it, not offered you a discount. They offered me a 25% discount on a full price Charge 2 if I bought direct from them.
They wouldn’t let me use the discount on the Charge 3, why not give me 25% off of any watch that they have????
So I fixed my issue by buying a Amazfit bip for less than $80 and I love it. And guess what, the screen is not cracked at all.

I think your 'fix' will be the way many go when they look to replace their current fitness tracker. Me included.

I had the same problem but my Fitbit was a little over a year old and they told me there was nothing they could do. It was only covered for a year warranty🙁🙁

I also have the same problem. I purchased a Zagg screen protector for less than $9, and put it on. You can hardly see the crack. It looks like I have a new screen, plus the crack is covered so no moisture will get in.
Next time I purchase a new Fitbit, I will definitely get a screen protector.

I concur. Mine was just over a year old and they won’t replace it. It is certainly a defective product. I’m disappointed in Fitbit customer service in this instance.

Not good that they won’t replace what is blatantly obviously a defective product. In the U.K. the law states goods have to be fit for purpose - quite often well beyond the warranty. 1 Year is nowhere near acceptable for a product costing so much to break.
